yep come guys I'm waiting for a reply too...I know all you need is a spark plug in the tail pipe and an extra coil but lets see how you've done yours
I would do a search at the top of the page, for flamethrowers...this subject has been covered many times in the past, and you should find some good tips...both pro and con. I "almost" posted the other night, asking what rattle-can paint is best for my firewall...did a search, and had hundreds of posts to read, for the rest of the night.
The best way to do it is to buy a kit like the one from www.FlameKitz.com. The kit costs $90 and comes with everything you need except the coil. I put a set on my buddies '49 and my 63 Corvair. Check out the video on YouTube- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t2EIUuwx0k
Anyone got info on the ****thrower's in that '62 Olds Starfire that burned to the ground a short while back?
I used the Auto Loc kit in my Puick and it works really good. Especially when you leave it in manual low and run it up and hit the ****on. Looks pretty wild when a car rolls by shootin flames out the pipes. Oh sure I'm sure that its dangerous in some way shape or form but thats why they invented fire extinguishers right?
Most pedestrians don't carry fire extinguishers. Some idiot at Lead East was throwing flames, set a little girls dress on fire. No more flame throwing at Lead East.
If you are walking through a crowded show, and don't have any warning..... Using Propane to make larger flames might have had something to do with it. And alcohol may have been involved.

Stupid like who, Mikey (fatty mcguire) with the lighter, or you for taking an unprovoked shot at another hamber? BTW, nice 6 cylinder Camaro
I just think it's dumb to light your exhaust on fire with a lighter. Sorry I got your ******* in a bunch. I'm glad you like my daily, I like it too.

On my '67 D-100, I used an old boat gas tank, an Autolite fuel pump, a brake bleeder welded into the exhaut, a spare coil, wire and spark plug I had laying around. It took me all of 15 minutes and cost $10 to make. But holy lord was it DANGEROUS. Turns out that cheap fuel pumps are unreliable at best. Broken diaphragm = gas siphoning from tank into firey exhaust which in turn = one wasted fire extinguisher, one totalled out pair of underpants, and one pissed off buddy because you almost burnt down his g/f.
Simplest setup I ever saw: one used HEI distributor, clamped down in the trunk. One 12 volt motor, hooked to the distributor shaft with a small rubber belt, 2 spark plugs mounted in each tailpipe. When you hit the switch to give voltage to the distributor and the motor, the motor spins the dizzy and it sparks the plugs and you get fire. The plugs keep sparking as long as the juice is running to the distributor. It can be a dizzy from a 4, 6, or 8 cylinder car. Mount the whole setup to a small piece of wood and tuck it into a corner and you're ready to light'em up.
