Your cars cool, but its not my style. Then again, bucket T's are not my style either. How much rain do you get over there, and how much cruisin do you do?
I've seen your impala in Kenosha and it's a really nice straight car.Sounds good too.You do have to think about the Wisconsin weather when your considering this trade. Maybe you get three to four good months of driving in the 27.If you always wanted a roadster like that I say go for it.But if your only thinking of making a trade and then selling the 27 later then I would say no. Don't do it.Buy or build the car you always wanted. I have known alot of guys who bought or built a car because the price was right only to find they made a mistake later when it was done. Then they end up selling for a loss and buy what they originally wanted .Besides you will have a bigger pool of possible buyers with the 65.After all, the guy took those photos in 05 and it was for sale back then. I'm with the other guys who say change the wheels and lower the front end. It would really make the car and possibly make it worth more money and desirable to other potential buyers. Good luck.
You think my mind doesn't race??? I've been around the HAMB environment for about a year now. Not and day goes bye that I don't see the car of my dreams. Believe me, I've wanted a "real" hot rod since I got my set of Tonkas when I was about 4. If I threw caution to the wind on every car I've wanted over the years I'd have 'em all but at a price way beyond the monetary costs. I've also been on the down side of sellers regret a time or two and I gotta tell ya, you will have it if you let that Impala go. That car is such a rare commodity and yours is so beautiful. At the risk of offending the people this forum supports may I just add, there are hundreds if not thousands of examples of traditional ("real") hot rods all over this board and, while personal tastes vary and defining what is RIGHT can be subjective, based on the pictures I see of this roadster, I think you could do a lot better. As others have pointed out, something just isn't right about this car, aside from the rear tires. Many great components just no harmony. The full boxed frame seems clunky and chunky. If it's a survivor from way back then I'm the idiot and maybe you should concider it, but to me it just seems a bit goofy looking. Sorry to go on and on............
I agree get rid of the wheels but I would not put Rallies on it. If you do that then you will have the cookie cutter look. Get the Impala down on the ground. Then metal flake the **** out of the roof and put some Supremes with those thin white wall tires. That is what you need to to to this car.
Well I think I am not going to do the trade! When he calls me today to set up a time to look my car over, I am going to tell him I slept on it and it is not in my best interests to go through with the deal thanks a lot to every one who has helped me in making my decision. If any one has something they would like to trade me for I am open to all cars P.M. me <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> Once again thank you to all you could have saved me lots of unneeded trouble!<o></o>
Ok brother, I just read four pages of HAMB members opinions concerning your car. That's ok, but if it takes this much chatter and you still aren't sure, than you need to keep the Impala. If you really wanted that T, the trade would have been completed already. Someone mentioned changing the rims on the Impala. That's probably the best suggestion here. Do that, then see if the T compares.
screw that..dude that impala is a way better ride..my 2 cents..get the Bucket as a second ride for those days you know are not going to rain and for short runs...do 500 miles in your impala..than do 500 in a T bucket
Richard D, if youd done something crazy say... read the original post? you would see the engine is a flathead caddy
That impala should be worth more than $15k, IMO. One more vote to ditch the billet wheels. I would throw some steelies on there. But then again, I put steelies on EVERYTHING. Hahaha. I've had this car on the road for 19 years. It had Vette ralleyes (the rare '68 ones in front) and when I put the redlines and dog dish on 4 years ago, I fell in love all over again.
If you need the money, sell the 65, buy a cool T if that is what you want and use the $5-7000 change for whatever you needed the $$ for. A T is not an expensive car and IMHO there are a LOT that are cooler looking than that thing. Cool motor, weird stance.
trade but, mount the headlights diffrent, change to biasply then kick the windshield off and its a deal! the roadster could easly look presentable to me if i had acouple hours alone with it. so i say go for it.
Now thats an idea! Does anyone have a car for sale that would like to buy my car and give me some cash?
