Wow, all of 'em, NICE. The AWB 55 is bitchin' for sure, but the Comet does it for me, Holy CRAP, that is awesome! The Rancharito is cool too, wow.
the white 65 cyclone is a car that i'm building for a freind. It's a real cyclone that had a hi po 289 and factory 4 speed. I installed a tube axel and was able to use the stock steering. The engine is a full roller 331 stroker with hillborn injection. I built a custom set of fender well headers for it, Trans is a ford toploader. The front lip of the rear fender wells have been moved forward 4 1/2 inchs. The leaf springs are moved inboard, it will have early style box traction bars. The rear end is a narrowed 9 inch ford, willwood disc brakes, aluminum strange center section with 4.56 gears. My freind should have lots of fun with the car when i get it finished.
Note-Gasser55's a buddy of mine. So, allow me to toot his horn for him. Mid-20's and paints, fabricates, builds motors etc. All in his no garage back yard. A real talent
You look like you are having too much fun. I almost like that white comet better than the 55. what is the front axle in the 55 out of? what kind of rpms will the 292 turn? standard or auto?
Hey Gasser55, i too would like 2 know what axle that is and also how do u have your steering set-up? What steering arms did you use on the 55? I have a 57 wagon with a straight axle but dont like the steering setup.
The front axel is ford econoline with stock chevy steering. The engine has only been in the car for one week so i'm not sure yet i got 9 grand out of the 331 i was running before the 292.i'm running a super t-10 four speed with 4.56 gears in the ass end. the clear hood scoop came from a freind that had a few made. the front axel is ford econoline and the steering is stock 55 chevy i'll try to get some pic's up of the set up tomarrow.
bitchin 55...and I love the falcon and comets...Makes me want to do some more stuff to my 65 comet...it almost went straight axled 6-7 years ago...hmm...may be time..esp with the 14 to 1 289 in her hah
that's the most bitchin 55 I've seen in a loong time. what a sweet car man. Nice collection of car you've got there gasser55. might need to find me one them 12 spokes for my cycle project.
Wow that is one bad ass Alter! My dad built a model in the 60's of a 55 chevy just like this (he still has it) the model and your car are identical minus the paint the model even has the plexie glass hood scoop
Very nice cars. Love the 55. Just started the front end on mine this past week end. MAS axle and springs arrived today. Maybe a "roller" by the end of this week. How much did you move the front wheels ahead? I am thinking about 1 1/2" to 2" forward on mine.
I moved the front wheels forward 2". the front end work on your 55 looks great. Are those pre fab rails?
