I have a drag race stroker 8BA with a 400 jr. I have single isky springs.I also have aluminum retainers and hollow lifters. never any float problems. The doubles aren't needed and are a pain in the ass. Not just my opinion, I had the doubles and Flatdog(HAMB flathead guru) told me I didn't need them so I replaced them with the singles and works great.

Let me ask the obvious question. What does Isky recommend for this cam?

get a package of .060 shims also. depending on how deep the valve seats are cut you might need one to get the 2 inch installed height as recommmended
