Looking for photos: Indy roadsters and early open asphalt/dirt cars

    That link to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing is cool,ever been there?Its also where the Jalopy Showdown is every year.Cool Place!

    Guys,

    Thanks for the additional pictures and links. Speedwagon, the street open wheel car is awesome. I'm sure it will get a bunch of looks when you hit the street with it. No Mike I've never been to the EMMR, but if you have any pictures, share. I seem to remember some awesome cars on display when I visited the Indy Museum in the early 90's but can't find the pictures.

    Flipper if you have been going through the links and pictures in this thread you have seen everything from midgets, sprints, champ cars, early Indy car's and some Indy roadsters. They vary in size the midget being the smallest to the indy car's of the late 40's probably the biggest. Anyone have more detailed info for him?

    what grill is the fully chromed version. I see it on a few of the cars above.. (inlcuding one painted white on the 66 car

    southern star.jpg This car was know around the mid-west tracks as the Southern Star. Check the cool trailer ramp.
    This pic is from the Viki Hamilton Woods alblum. Her Father Roy Hamilton was a mid-west racer.
