Thin stainless trim on the top and bottom is going to make a huge difference in the way the hood looks. I think an extra 'spear' right through the middle of the louvers would be cool too...kinda like a stock '36...only really different. It would effectively break up the longer louvers in the rear. A medium to dark body color will make the louvers a little more subtle than they are now too.

I also think a good profile pic would help these guys see how it actually "flows." It seems like those pics kinda make it look weird because of the angle.

That is truely an impressive piece of work, Cole. I can hardly believe that car used to be a 5 window.

I'm not anyone by any means but, I too think the louvers are a bit disruptive visually so after thinking about it more, I have an idea.
What if the louvers were to become increasingly narrower toward the back of the car?
They seem a bit too 'thick' as the lines lay down.
    Just a suggesttion.
By the way, I just got my MFS dvd over the weekend ad watched the Cole Foster, Rockstar segment. For some reason I kept thinkiing about Germ while I was watching it.

    Ruler, yes.

Everyone has an opinion. I think the plastic surgeon who did Pam Anderson's nose should have done it just a little different...

I think they're really neat, and are the most original detail on an already excellent prewar custom. I'm really interested to see how the stainless details work.

  6. Damn i love that car....first look the louvres caught my eye (too much) but with some beautiful paint and stainless, hmmm....they really grow on me..Love them I guess..

    V slick.

    Cheers

Tell kirk that you building his 36 is more important than their ****ty new albums... [IMG]

  7. Damn! That's *****en!

Like B*** was mentioning... I'd love to see a side/profile shot!

Cole... Does the bottom line of the louvres run parallel to the line of the fender..?

  8. Wabi-sabi man...

It'll all make sense when there's paint on the thing... right now, the lovers jump out at you.
Anyway, nice work cole... I think I'll go out an buy a Metallica CD so you can finish the thing.

    Sam.

  9. Just something about that shirt...

I have yet to find anything on that 36 that I don't like. Including the louvers.

If the car is going to be a dark color, I don't think the louvers will be distracting at all. I like the asthetics thus far.. But, once again, I'm just a schmuck from PA.

  13. Nice to see the adhesives make it into our end of the industry. I'm guessing you liked the results, Cole? What brand did you use? Could you post a picture from the back, looking towards the front? I'd like to see the louvres from a different angle. Thanks.

Nice work Cole. Was watching the MadFab video, staring at that hoodside the whole time....I think it would look better if you slanted the rear edge of the hood side back. Make the line between the hoodside and the cowl lean like the louvers.

By the way, what are the other three famous '36 Fords?

I've studied the pictures last night and tonight. Last night I wasn't sure, but now looking at the curve, they fit the fenders, roof and rear as one. It works for me.....not that I would doubt the master..

Cole, it looks like the last louver aligns with the angle of the a-pillar. Is that true? If so, that makes all the difference. Looks really cool.
