A neat car, owned by Kim Howie. This is the 31 Ford Roadster sitting in The Fonzes shop that he would work on. The car was built for Paramount studios in 1976 for the show. I was told that Gene Winfield built it for Paramount. I talked to Gene last week and he informed me he did work on it but didn't build it. The car is a 1931 ford roaster channeled on the a 1932 frame. The motor is a 69 mustang 302 with a C-4 trans. She has a nine" ford rear end ,full SW gauges, Complete Chrome poise dropped front axle, all the wiring is hidden and has a lot of hand made items.
i remember the show but not the car... but still that thing is tough looking... think it had the wheels on the show though?
When I was a lil kid,,growing up in a family of mechanics and gearheads,I thought the COOLEST thing was that the Fonze had all his tools hanging on the wall with outlines around his tools...I remeber asking my dad why he didn't do that and he just looked at me funny.... hahhaa ..it wasn't untill I started collecting my own tools that I realized why..hahaha, now that i'm alot older ,it would take all the walls in my garage to hang my tools up! hahaha
Fonze's best work was on Mr C's Hemi, then Opie cuningham went and raced those punk as *****es. The Fonz Is king.
I used to watch Happy Days.... until Fonzie got more than one line and they started filming before a live audience. The cars in the backgound of the taped versions were sweet. Then I stopped, but I always tried to catch the opening when Ralphs RPU would roll up that damn driveway. That car must have been from much later episodes. It doesn't look familiar to me.
