Still working on the 350...trying not to "bling" it out too much..but cant resist a little chrome! The 4-link is done...mounted my shocks (thanks chopt49) painted black..... Put the body back on and everything actually works!! Hopefully will pick up a Mustang tank at the next Pomona Swapmeet, and start installing my tank and compressors......lots of work still ahead, but its starting to look like a car again! Thanks again Rusk and chopt49 for the 24 hour tech support!..........stay tuned.......
Nice work Chris...I'm stoked it's all coming together for ya. Did you have to cut out your wheel-wells? And don't knock the bling...platinum teeth is the new pompadour. Bryan
Looks really nice man. I am ****er for clean chevy, and it looks like yours is going to be nothing short of just plain cool. Did you cut out the whole trunk floor because it looks like the square tube sub structure takes up the trunk space. Anyways I like where yo are going with this buddie. You are giving me some ideas.
That was done by someone else....they raised the trunk floor and took out the spare tire holder so nothing would hit when laid out......probably didnt need to because Im putting in a Mustang tank, but I know the spare tire well, and original gas tank would have...
They are E-78 14's......they were already on the rims my buddy gave me...and yes they are bias.......so you got any sneek pics of yours????
thanks. 14's eh? i had two steelies up front for mock up and couldn't figure out why the car was sloped...well, one rim was a 14 and the other a 15 DOH!!! ..i do but, i've been fighting myself to put them up until it's finished. -marty
Hmmm...runnin two different size rims...you may be on to something.. Alright..I'll just sit here pouting until you post pics!
Looks like you're on the right track. The work on the rear end looks like it was done well. Too bad about all the **** you have had to deal with, with this car. Glad to see it's getting close.
Thanks....didnt turn out that bad for my first time!! Traded my dirt bike for a Lincoln welder set-up and went to town!! I know its cliche, but so true..if you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself......so far "Bad Luck" is having a string of "Good Luck"...better stop talking before I jinx it......
No..its pretty close...the wheels start hitting when it is almost to the ground..If I still had my 15's I would definitley have too. The 14's help a little.....I'll probably install some bump stops in the notch to keep it from laying all the way on the ground...not sure yet....gonna wait until the motor and trans are in, put my bumpers back on, then make a decision..
FYI, you have a whole lot of leverage working on those top bars' front mounts. Hope the weld is very strong and gussetted. The frame steel on Chevys isn't too thick. The strength is in the top hat shape.
I hear ya.....yeah its welded good and does have a good size gusset on the rear side, can't see it in the pic! Any more advise is more than welcome... Thanks....
