i have a knudsen head for my ford 226 flat six. it is made for a boat. i also have the water pipe that bolts to the head.

the stock heads have a t-stat mounting surface, there is no such thing on this head. what i am thinking, is find a housing in a junk yard and mate it up.

i guess my question is this. has anyone used marine engine parts on a street engine?

all input will be greatly appreciated.

If you want to take the easy way out, they sell remote thermostat housings in most catalogs

I ran marine 351 windsor heads on a Early Bronco for street and track for years.

They ran a lot better than the stock 5.0 h.o. heads did.

DittoRichfox: Jegs sells a remote T-stat housing.

You could also mount a remote thermostat right in the upper water hose.
Make a collar to hold the t-stat that is the size of the hose ID. hold it on there with a hose clamp on the outside.
get this close to the head, not close to the rad.
