G'day I was wondering if anyone had any pics of the Jimmy McCord's "McCord Special"? My Dad has a '29 Chev Tourer cowling & rear tub and I'm trying to give him some ideas of what he could do with it. Motor will most likely be a flathead V8 out of a Jailbar pickup. Frontend will be Chev as I have a spare '29 Chev frontend. The pics in CKD No.2 are small and aren't that sharp. It will be a while before any work starts as he is still undecided on what he wants to do with it So some better pics may help make his mind up! Cheers in advance!
yeah, that car majorly inspired me when I saw it at mooneyes xmas way back when, it'd be cool to see what it looks like now....

No...my best friend Richard just bought the car off of Frankie in trades for a 46 Ford the Bruns had worked on...It is all in pieces...Jimmy did keep a few on the odd pieces off it...We are slowly putting the car back together..Im sure he would have some pics of it. Ill ask him
I'm pretty sure that there is a model A truck body on the ch***is now... At least that is what the guy that had the ch***is said it was from....
Wow! This is a blast from the past. Yeah that is it, this is still one of my favourite Hot Rods. Any pics you have would be appreciated. Cheers Jimmy
Jamie, I've got all the R&P's so I'll try to find it, scan it, and send 'em to you if you want. but on second thoughts - I thought it was in an early CKD
Hey Mark, scans would be great! It was on the cover of CKD No.2 & was featured as well. Do you remember which issue? I know it was on the cover of No.6. Cheers Jimmy
yeh its in ckd 2 i have r&p from issue 4 and theres not a actual coverage of the car that i can remember but i could be wrong. still one of my fave hotrods too. ****s to hear it got pulled down and sold off.
Antipodean nickname for the '46 Ford pickup, the grill looks like jail bars. as opposed to the barrel nose ( '39) which in typical down under style is known as a "beer barrel" Ford
I bought my T off of him. He boxed the frame and I bought it as a "roller", thats him in the background. There is a 6 page feature on him and the car in Rolls and Pleats #4 and a shot of the motor on the cover of Rolls and pleats #6. That was a pretty inspirational little car because he built it on such a tight budget and he was a young kid at the time..
Does anyone know where is Jimmy McCord now? Has he built anything recently? I remember hanging out with him when he was living in Denver in 1997 (I was living in Denver too). Great guy! PS: Yes that's right about the car being featured in #4 of my mag (2001).
