Video of the first fire-up...on NITRO....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugmq-nPtxqk <!-- / message -->
That video is from a couple of weeks ago, and yes that is Roland Leong. I called him and asked if he would come down to help us tune.
I believe that's Pete Eastwood in the first part of the video. He's one of the hands in the restoration.
I just talked to Joe Mondello. He's SO stoked about being at the Reunion with the car, and he gives all credit to Karpo. Nice work Karpo! ~Scotch~
i saw a couple pics of the paint and lettering a couple weeks ago....its gonna look as *****in as it sounds...... brandon
Yessssss! I can almost smell the fuel...... Wish I was headed to Bakersfield this weekend. A friend of mine has been sending me pics of this build. AWESOME!
That is way kool. I can't believe that they lit it with out havin' somebody in it. Maybe there was no coupler or drive shaft. Smokey
RAD!!!!!! Yea. That was Roland who cam in about half way through the clip. God damn that has to be an ill handling *****. I love it.
Thanks for all the positive response on the Altered. It has been a long haul but well worth it. Let me clarify a few things, Pete Eastwood and myself own the car. And Scotch thanks for the kind words , but I cant take all the credit. There are three main people who are responsible for the restoration, Pete, Derek Bower who built the motor and myself. I sent that video out to three people last week and it is a trip how many people have seen it so far, even Joe Mondello called me today to say 12 people have emailed him the video. To answer the question on nobody sitting in the car, the car has a Turbo 400 and its on jackstands. To Kerry , it is a cacklecar, we will never run her only for maybe a burnout. The car has already proved what it can do. The car was sold in 1970 and went to R.I. , ran for three years with a Hemi/Lenco combo, and then sat. We purchased the car around two years ago. Anybody who will attend the Reunion this year please come by and say hi. Thanks, Karpo
Trip out. That's Pete Eastwood ( co-owner) and his buddy that did the motor. I talked to them at the Throttlers show Sunday. See, I've seen the video before, but did not know until the conversation, that's ROLAND LEONG with them to tune the injectors! How cool is that? Ya gotta love the details of a story. They say they'll light it @ the Doubletree Motel Friday night. That'll be more impressive to me than @ the track. 60's drag racing was "IT" for me! Great job guys. Thanks for bringing that car back. I can't wait to see the paint work and my buddy Larry's lettering/striping.
