I went to Solvang at lunchtime and decided to check out the show. Pretty empty only about 15 cars there. I took some pics and then got a mean buzz in a wine tasting room. There were some cars rolling in as I drove back home so I'm sure tomorrow will have way better attendance. Hopefully weather too...it's a lil windy and cloudy today.
Jerry & Divona Titus really do try to put on the best show~ Friday night was freezing and it was strictly "die hards" until dark. It was nice to see everyone though. Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day! There were some nice cars in attendance. I was told that there were alot more people than ever this year and it made it a success! They had George Barris, Bill Hines and Frank DeRosa. Penny with West Coast Customs had a booth set up selling some really cool stuff. The venders sold free of charge so you couldn't beat that! There were alot "non-car folks" that stumbled upon the show in the park but all and all it was a great time for all! I know my dad had a great time and seen alot of people he hadn't seen in along time so it was nice for him to make the show.
If I didn't know any better, I would guess that's a early '80's Seville (big bat ??) that was customized by Bill Hines ? Never seen it before....
Thanks for posting the pics of the show I was wondering about the turnout. Looked like you had some kool sleds show up. I wish that somone would re-pop ribbed lake pipes. I would buy a set or two... Happy Trails, Mick
We had a blast, the show was small but then all new car shows are small. I think the town is great for a show, kool little park. I had the pleasure of talking to Frank DeRosa, Bill Hines, Jerry Titus, Frank Livingston, George Barris and even Gary Minor, LOL! Theres not a lot of hotrods and I hope it stays that way, nothing against hot rods, Im just a kustom person. I guess theres no bars or nightlife there but I dont drive to shows for that, I go to see cars and see my friends. I'll be back next year.
