Very good work, it looks great. I also am in the process of learning by doing on my first hot rod, it's a great learning experience. Good luck, keep the updates coming.

Screw my stuff! It's gone and I expect nothing and it's better that way.

Carlsberg! Next weekend! :D Come over on Saturday and you can give me a hand with getting that firewall in with the little welder.

LOL! I have one strip of stainless trim on the Murray that goes around the cowl... because you love to make stainless look so nice, I just might have to let you polish it. Or maybe I'll just leave it beat up looking. That would look okay! Thought you would appreciate the picture anyway.

So... back to firewalls. Anyone have tricks for mounting aluminum inserts?

Learned this trick from Norm Abrams: Have your outlet box (standoffs) in place. Rub lipstick on the edge of the box (standoffs). Position your drywall (firewall) up against it in the exact position it needs to be, and the lipstick will make an exact template of the holes to be cut (drilled).

Now all you gotta do is be brave enough to buy some lipstick.

I definately appreciate the pic. If you decide to have a little bling on the Murray, I'd be happy to polish it up for ya.

Great pictures and writing. I look forward to your updates...

Sorry to hear about the friendly fire break-in... Maybe Evel can give you a bro deal on replacements (hint)...

I talk too much! The funny thing is, I always write about double what I actually post and delete it all because I know most people just want to see pics. I enjoy writing/typing out stuff with the hopes that people get what's going on, but I think I still talk too much. Diarrhea of the keyboard I guess! LOL! I'm doing it RIGHT NOW!

All that stuff happened for a reason... I'm sure there is a lesson or ten I'm supposed to learn from it. The whole reason for sharing the "bad news" was to sort of reinforce the fact that building this car has put me through some life experiences I would have never had otherwise. Building cars isn't just something we do, it's something we live with and it effects our life and people's lives around us. It opens doors and closes others. I often wonder where I would be in life if I had never seen the pictures of my Dad's 31 Hemi Coupe when I was five... I seriously doubt I would be sitting here in Huntington Beach, working for a fellow HAMBer and talking about this very subject... Know what I mean? The things that have dissappeared will be replaced in time. I only hope that whoever has those things appreciate what I went through to get them for myself. Flyin' Dutchman hand delivered those MFS videos to me when he came out to visit me from the Netherlands. Everything that was taken from me had a story and had personal history...

...in the end they're still just material items though and I will work hard again to replace and restore the life and things that were taken from me. I will appreciate them just as much the second time around and maybe it's just a chance to have new experiences and new stories while replacing those things.

Work hard, build what you imagine and never take anything for granted. No good deed goes without reward and no bad deed goes unpunished... BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!

There I go again, getting wordy! TGIF guys! Start thinking about what you're going to get done on your cars this weekend! I need some more inspiration around here!
