51 Merc suspension question

Quick question if anyone knows... do any front suspension components interchange between fords and mercs? Specifically front springs? Workin on a 51 merc, and wondering if 53-4 Ford front springs will work in it. Reason.. they are drop coils and would save trying to find some for a 51 merc if these would just work. Anyone out there able to answer that one?

Thanks, but actually trying to find out if a merc uses the same kind of spring as a 53-4 ford did? I have Merc coils but have access to 53-4 ford drop coils if they will work.

 

Measure them! I have 57 Chev coils in my 49 Merc.........OLDBEET

 

good to know, yeah i guess thats the best way, anyone have some stock 49-51 merc coils not in the vehicle to make my life easier that could give me some measurements hahaha??

 

S-10 coils work perfectly,,, I used standard cab w/air springs and they ride wonderful! Little firmer than stock, which isn't neccesarily a bad thing

I have a couple of 51 Merc coil springs out of a car that I can measure for you. PM a reminder to me because I'm leaving for the hunnert car pileup in the morning. What do you want to measure??
