back in a old dusty corner of the shop I found these long forgotten manifolds.Takes some kind of two barrel carb with three bolts, but TWO of them.Is that what you call a four barrel? Is this a tunnel ram?Funny what kind of stuff we got floating around here.I need the room and this is taking up too much space,Is there a good aluminum recycler in Denver?

  5. I'll start the bidding at $25.

  6. that first picture looks like some kind of ecsher print - can't find the edge - which way are they going - aw my eyes

you could make a ton of pbr cans out of those - get them to the recycler

There not even worth the effort of hauling them off for scrap. Just leave them out on the curb for the garbage man, I'm sure they...er, someone will haul them away for you.

  9. You coulda got more for 'em if ya didn't go and buff the patina off... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Doesn't a tunnel ram have a plenum chamber that sits on top of the runners?

Reminds me of a guy that I bought a Model A from in the county of St Louis. He told me that he had a bunch of that old flathead stuff back in the 80's, Offy, Edelbrock, Sharp, and so on. He told me that he could not get rid of it and had to melt it down for scrap. It just tore my heart out hearing that, but he still keeps an eye out for me and finds some neat stuff. He is kinda the Sanford and Son of south St Louis.

Oh yea, I bump the bidding up to $50....

  17. I was told they were repoping them. Do you have the air cleaners too? There were 6 new air cleaners at the Pate swap, 30. bucks each. Did not see any intakes. Cool stuff!

AS a matter of fact.Tony Baron makes them for us.
Does a excellent job.You will not be sorry if you buy one.
Notice all the "I want one!" then I give the price...all quite
Check on e-bay,a tall 2x2 goes for around $600.00.These are flawless. No striped holes or cracks,or hoged out ports.
I like old hot rod parts more then most guys. But you can't go wrong with one of these intakes. And with limited production you can't be sure they will always be around.Remember when you could just call Halibrand for a quick change? And the foundry is getting tired of us doing these small runs. The next batch the price is going UP.

Vaphead: i think you should store them outside thru the winter snows and get the aged look on them. i got my original one 6-7 yrs ago at the Turlock Swap meet for $150 along with a set of heads for $100, but less the covers. the air cleaners look killer.

  26. On the one hand...you gotta love it, but it's bitter sweet to hunt for a longggg time for something and find later it's being re-pop'd. Dont get me wrong, it looks great!

    Well, they're sitting on 94's so I'd assume 2BBL.

I'd like this stuff better if it said Baron instead of Thickstun on it and showed some differences. Don't really care for re-pops unless they're done by the original co.

  30. So thats what that funny lookin thing is that sittin on top of that old green Merc eng thats been sittin under the bench for the last 30 years, it has some funny lookin things the plugs go into, fins and made of some shiney metal that say "Offenhauser" on them. The guy that gave it to me said some strange words, like Kong, Potvin, Smithys,Zephers.Too bad he sold the 40 Merc convertable that it came out of, took a long time sell for a $100 since there was'nt any motor or trans in it, he said something about the "Columbia" did'nt work right so he stopped driving it. I didnt understand it at all but that thing sure collects alot of dust and is always in the way, some guy said he would give $50 for it for his tractor and I said "Sold" but he never came back, probabley thought it was too much money or the tractor was'nt worth the effort!!
