Ha! Thanks Tim. I don't know about that other stuff, but my respect for the monster is all encompassing. Now it's time to deal with it, before my spirit turns to poison out of sheer neglect. I have some projects that've been on the back burner for WAY too long...But it can wait, if you need me for anything at ATF. Damn, I was just starting to recover from Bonneville...
When it comes to 'package deal', Mr Conder is king. I hear his passion I see his skill I feel enthusiasm I grasp for his vision. King. Speaking of which, when that is shared with others of equal visionary talent, one mans vision is projected to heavenly proportions .....Tim's Vision & Mitch's embrace... Keep the faith man, keep the faith.... Cheers, Drewfus
Heavy vibes here...........folks that have met me know I can talk, and have ideas and opinions.............talking with Tim on the voice transporter thing is like twohummingbirds on speed.............Tim, thanks for the time shooting the bul with me over your and my ideas...........got room for ya Sturgis 08?
Conder is truly inspiring....everytime I read about A.T.F or see one of his rail sketches, it makes me want to sell everything I own and build a fueler. God bless you Tim, you are the prototype for what an American should be.
Thx Ryan for sharing it. Pretty good stuff... The first who will cast some 31" wheels will win an OCC bike and the hammer to explode it Ready? Go!!!!
Conder has some talent... <img src=http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee254/designisgraphic/conder_aldape.jpg> this was drawn by tim himself for a buddy of mine in 1988... I'm vectorizing, and updating for a t-shirt.. -Jun
WOW. Manuel's '55!!!??? I was like 22 back then...God that car was beautiful, you all wouldn't believe that thing. Fantastic paint (Rod Powell's) and under the hood was ALL chrome...EVERYTHING. It was crazy bad. Mitch Cotie did that AMAZING colorization of a quick sketch I did. This is a great opportunity to illustrate something... ATF is so big it's impossible for me to create everything. EVERY media and craft imaginable is actually needed. Even when it was my job the thing grew beyond me on the word go...and to think in it's early stages I thought I could do all the art myself...too funny. Cotie's contribution is a fantastic example of what happens when artistic collaboration works. Imagine what could happen with hundreds of craftsmen and artists creating and building at the same time, on one great piece. I VERY much appreciate Cab's comments and respect them. Not everyone on earth shares the same exact beliefs but...we all understand the battle of GOOD and EVIL. I'll tell one story here that's very interesting but be warned, it ain't about cars... I was raised by my grandmother who was a devout catholic. When I got this idea I was on FIRE with it, but I had decided I wouldn't do it without my grandmother's approval. She was 96 and sharp as a tack. I flew home to Kentucky and sat with her at the kitchen table. I laid the whole thing out and she sat there quietly...then she said "Timmy, I'm going to say the rosary on it tonight and I'll tell you what I think tomorrow." The next morning she made me some breakfast, sat down, looked me in the eye and said..."You've always been a very unusual boy Timmy, and this thing is very DIFFERENT. Who gave you this idea, GOD or the DEVIL?" I said I didn't know. So I said, 'So? What do you think? I mean, I'm not going to fake anything Gramma. Whoever wins, WINS. What if Satan wins?' She smirked and said..."GOD's going to win. There's not a doubt in my mind. What you are about to do will simply affirm everyone's faith. GOD will win." I've met very few religious folks with faith that strong. The woman actually feared nothing. There are lots of folks out there with crosses on their race cars, but they're racing "Bob" from Iowa...maybe it's time to put a little something bigger on the line. Things have happened with ATF I can't reveal right now because there isn't an end yet, but everything on the site actually happened. If I was a mason or a carpenter I'd be doing what they've done for centuries and build a cathedral...but this is what I'm good at.
Wow Tim, I just read the whole story and checked ur website. I'm really impressed and cannot say anything else than U have all my admiration.
We all have been given gifts, and talents, it's up to us to use them, no one else can walk in your shoes....again, keep the faith, man, keep the faith.... Step up a gear, we march together, Drewfus
Introductions are over rated... Drewfus...you rang my bell of truth and this sings only in the hearts of the ones who honor the gifts and answer the bell... the gear will turn and I will look for you in the march. thank you...sincerely..thank you
"WOW. Manuel's '55!!!??? I was like 22 back then...God that car was beautiful, you all wouldn't believe that thing. Fantastic paint (Rod Powell's) and under the hood was ALL chrome...EVERYTHING. It was crazy bad." Well i was only 4 in '88 (yeah I'm just a kid).. Manuel has another beautiful 55 right now that wins awards everywhere he takes it.... -Juan
Hey Tim, good to hear you type again! Could you post that story about your dad and the K Model? One of my favorites... I have it saved at work, but wouldn't want to post w/o your permission. Oh, as far as art... my fav has to be that pic of the dude tuning the carb on a harley and it backfiring... hehehehe!! Tim rocks. Sam.
I am not Germ GERM is not me Nor are we one or two or three I do not sit in a tree He will not use a key The mighty worm says "HOWDY" to thee. Hey Sam, if you want to post that story about the K Model it's cool. I lost it in my files, it would be good to read it again. ...and JUAN, I've never felt like an old man until just now. Thanks a PANT LOAD, really...and if you get a chance, post some pictures of Manual's '55 Chevys.
Tim, cool articles in the new Garage mag! Keep it going and follow your dreams, because everything starts from that ...our dreams. If yer not dreaming, your not growing, progressing, maturing and living! I hope that your vision grows and is shared by many. great stuff and dig your creative mind. persistance and perseverence always pays off in the end. Success is measured by how many people we influence "For good " in our life time. Stay blessed Tim!
Truthfully, i can't get a handle on this dude. He builds some cool stuff, but seems kinda yuppyish to me at times. Almost as though he is trying to make simple things into a philosophical ideal. I KNOW i don't understand what he is trying to do with the ATF project, cause he's not just building two cars of apposing "themes." Whatever it is, i like the work he has done, art and fabrication alike. Good luck Conder. I remeber seeing the ATF site when i was probibly 17 or 18 (now 23), and being very impressed with the work. It's nice that now, with a little sharper eye for detail and craftsmanship, i'm still very impressed.
Thanks Cab, and thanks I think to mtm...I've been called many things man, but "yuppyish" has got to be the best one yet.
I feel like such a dick, and Im sure you will all agree that I am (Its what I love about this place) I had no idea who he was untill now, but I have LOVED his atr and concepts for as long as I remember seeing them. God Im a dick.
Doc, stop beating yourself up over this You used the work D*c& two times in your post. Conder's stuff rules, go have yourself one of those Aussie beers and cool down. Your not a "dick" Peace
I guess Ryan edited Doc's post? Maybe it was a bit hostile and what not? I wonder how many comments that aren't "nice" get edited out of my life by my friends and nieghbors? My wife always tells me when I got a booger or pepper in my teeth...(might save a life someday.) Whatever it was if anybody wants to try and tear my ass just pm me. Don't sweat it Doc, I've never really worked on my "public image" so very few have actually heard of me...boy, did I ever underestimate the importance of THAT...!!??
Anybody that has such attractive young ladies making body panels for their dragsters is a GOD in my book. Tim as a person and his body of work is quite an inspiration for me, and I've been lacking some inspiration for a looonngggg time. Plus, he's a down to earth normal kind of guy (ie, he answered my PM's 2 years ago!) -85% jimmy
