Ok... ok... they were found in a box of old press photos a fellow gave me. They show the parking lot of the Cleveland Air Races on September 5, 1937. Over 60,000 fans came to see the air races and filled the lot at Cleveland Airport. The parking lot at Aqueduct Park in New York on June 25, 1945 The photo captures the opening day at Aqueduct. If you look closely you'll see horses rounding the bend in the second race of the day. and a parking lot at Palisades Park in New Jersey on January 25, 1946. Over 200 Ford trucks were stored there prior to shipping to South America. I have had these in my studio for about 25 years and have enjoyed viewing them every now and then. What better place to share them than on the H.A.M.B. I'll be posting more soon. I have a bunch!
too cool! imagine trying to find your car in that mess! Too bad we cant just time warp the whole lot of 'em to 2007!
Jeez, and they say cars all look the same now! I think I see my car at the horse race - third row, eighth from the right;-)
NEAT pic. A LOT of GI's coming home bought new cars as soon as they were released for public sale again. Anyone else looking for any highboys? lol
Everyone else is checking out the cars, and I'm looking at Pallisades park! I sometimes hate this amu*****t park addiction I have...........
