I paid $120 via PayPal for spindles I didn't get.

Can't someone go back and check the people that sent him money? Must be an address somewhere. E-Bay and Pay Pal have to have some info. Name, bank etc. I'm not pc savy, don't know how to do it, but I know some guys on here can find out everything! I've seen them do it!.....OLDBEET

We have an address for Mitchell Maris (HAMB name Skibo). His address is 4372 Worchester Ave, Northport Florida. Can a Florida HAMBr do a drive by and see if the place looks occupied?

Only if the funds are in the paypal account that you are filing a claim against. Scammers use paypal accounts and as soon as the money hits there account they withdraw it all. Then if someone files a claim there is no money for paypal to recover. This ****S!!!

If you pay through paypal with your credit / debit card , I wonder if you can stop payment or at least contact the card issuer and get refunded that way.......

Yes you can. I believe only if you used your credit card. I only know for sure with the credit card. NEVER buy anything you are not willing to write off unless you do it through Paypal using your credit card. Do NOT use your bank account or money you have in Paypal.

Your credit card company will investigate and nearly every time side with you and charge Paypal back the money and you are not liable to pay it.

Paypal is then forced to go after the sorry SOB if they want their money and I believe they have done it.

Paypal is not responsible for a bad deal... They are simply the middle man... They can only help when the thief has money in his account.

You guys really need to press charges.

That's not actually true. They act in the same manner as a credit card service. They charge you for their service. If I get screwed using my credit card it's not the C.C.'s fault but they still accept liability.

It may not be proper to talk back to the man but Paypal indeed should have some responsibility in all of this. They basically say "screw off" beyond telling you "sorry, he cleaned out his account".

I also think as a community that we should be able to inform the community in the best way to protect yourself in deals like this and it should be where everyone can have that info.

I've never heard of paypal going after anyone... I'm not saying they shouldn't, but not sure they do...

As for notification of the community, I agree... That's why we have the bad seller list and why this thread is still around.

I'm also more than willing to help ANYONE that wants to press charges... I've done in the past with other folks and ready and willing with this guy...

Paypal has sent collection agents after people. I'm going to drop it as I have no dog in this hunt but I just think Paypal could be more helpful in situations like this than they are.

I realize they can't after every single $50 bad deal but when you have alot of them like this I think they could help out more than they do. Collecting the amount of money they do, I do feel they have an obligation.

Heck Ryan, you say you are happy to help out and I have no doubt whatsoever that is true and you aren't making a killing off your product like Paypal is.

I'm done. Hope you guys the best. Screw him.

I am out a hundo and I dont like theives as well

As far as pressing charges well lets just say that aint my way, but I did check into it and findin someone who will help ya is hard to do because most depts do not have enough man power to fight crime thats happening right in front of them let alone cyber crime.

But yes paypal aint gonna do anything as well if the money isnt in the account.

**** man It is bound to happen sooner or later if ya deal on the interweb.I just take it like gamblling in Vegas and that you should never send more than you can afford to lose.......

Another lesson in life and that the world does have some ****ed up people and things in it.

So if and when I find something out I will let the people involved know.

I paid Skibo $70 for the F-1 Front Backing plates, Hubs, and Drums. never got them, filed a paypal claim, decided in my favor, but didnt have any mondy recovered. $70 is a lot of money to loose when your only 18 years old! I'm afraid that taking action agenst him would cost me more that what I would get out of it. also, look him up in the Flordia court records online. Tons of financial troubles!

If paypal got alot of claims on this guy they may have frozen his account which means the money in his paypal account (if any) is untouchable untill the disputes are resolved. Meanwhile paypal has the $ in there account drawing interest till the guy can or does pay out of his own pocket to resolve the disputes. Its a losing loose situation for him AND the person who bought from him. All the while paypal is making money for nothing........ research it online, or call paypal and ask them if its a matter of his account being "frozen" and the funds not movable, they might tell you, might help if you were to try to get the $ from paypal with the help of a lawyer, just my unfortunate experience typed out to try to help out........:(

    This is Skibo,

I am here, I am not a scammer, or a con artist. Rest ***ured that this matter is being taken care of 100%. The phone # listed is a very old number (land line) have not used it in 2 or 3 years, it must be re***igned to someone else.

I was not able to login to the Hamb until today (Sat)

Ryan is aware of the situation

Fellow Hamb Member Mutt knows where I live, we visited today, I showed him the Boxes of parts ready to be shipped, waiting on shipping addresses, I had a computer problem and was not online for a long while, I recieved Paypal payments but had not written down the shipping addresses, I was waiting for Paypal to post to my acct, then the computer went down. I could not login to the Hamb as I was banned during that time, I found a email with Ryan's email address....contacted him, he let me login to explain my problem. I have contacted some of the folks already today.

I ask all of you for forgiveness, and in no way wanted to cause the Hamb or any members any trouble. We have a great bunch of Rodders here selling, helping others, and trying to build rods.

    Thanks for reading,

    Mitch Maris
