Here are a few photos from today's Pile-Up, It was nice to be able to put some faces to the screen names.
instead of putting layers on i actually ended up taking my sweatshirt off and wearing just a jacket. very good weather. it made for a great day. it was great to see that huge group of hambers there!
Great pics! Does anyone know any details of that supercharged flathead 6 cylinder? I have never seen anything like that! http://www.thepicturemaninc.com/49chevy/hunnert6/pages/0003.htm
Man that was a cool deal!! Mark me down for the volunteer list next year! Those of you that missed it, really missed it. The fair grounds was packed nearly to over-flowing, with cars and people. Took a bunch of pics,, but here's the one that speaks the most. The line to get in! And Stage Fright will be there next year 4 sure, even if I gotta push it the 300 miles!
I got home about 4 PM after a 5 hour drive in the rain all of the way except for the first half hour. My first Pile Up and it sure won't be my last. What a great show, The thing that impressed me the most was seeing a car with downturned exhaust driving on the dusty center parking area and he was kicking up a small dust storm. Nobody got their undies in a bunch, way Cool. Try that a GG or NSRA event and you would get decked. Laidback is the way to go. BB
Does anyone have more info on the gold Bug hot rod gassing up at the service station, in picture 66, this link? http://www.thepicturemaninc.com/49chevy/hunnert6/pages/0066.htm I'd love to see build pictures, talk to the owner. Thanks in advance, Mike Bynum
Hey BobK,, Me and my Daughter were standin behind ya during the Ring of Fire,, I got a pic of yer ugly mug on my camera!
GREAT photos! Thanks for sharing. It was wonderful to meet you. Lookin forward to our paths crossing agin in the near future.
Yeah I knew you were there but I was busy talking to Speedfreak and when I turned around you had gone. BB
Denise, Thanks a TON for all of your work with the M & G... your cookies ARE the best!!!!! Loved seeing ya!!! Ebert
That was your first Pileup, Bob?! I'm glad you finally made it. Yeah, if our crowd cared much about dust... we'd be in trouble! Our solution didn't work too well, but we're working on a new plan... and we have to do something about that pedestrian line! We were shocked!
