Yeah, that's Todd's car. I saw it during construction. That thing has the look. just about how I want my roadster to sit on my Bleed sweeper.
Yeah, "cool guy"/dirtbag haha maybe that'll be a good reason for you to come for the Roundup???

Sensory overload is such a god way to put it! There were a couple of times I was zoned out focusing out 100 yards when someone I know walked right in front of me or up to me and I didn't see them at first. Some of the cars had details that needed hours to see and appreciate them all. Just an awesome gathering of a great group.

Didn't do too bad at the dragstrip either... (The slower time was his...!) He had one tire burnin and the Flat head singing...!

Notice his 60 foot times... they had to be measured with a calender...!:D

Next time there will be great improvements with the ignition working and the taller rear tires...!

Man, I love the fit on this fat Ford custom with the Olds grille. Then I see this coupe converted to a 3W - it looks like Ford made it that way.

    Very Cool.

Thanx for the fotos Stick, cool rides there!

  7. ...with this show gettin bigger every year, it's gettin harder to see it all in one day; especially since the gates don't open til 9AM,...it would be cool if it were a 2 day show...but a Fri/Sat. show instead of the normal Sat/Sun show. Lots of people are arriving in Morris on Fri anyway. ( I know this is entirely up to the host club & all involved with the show, just my 2 cents)
Drivin up to the show Sat morning I got to thinkin .."how big will this show be for the 10th anniversary?" I can't imagine, at the rate it's growing.
Anybody have any thots on this?

There was write up in the Sunday Herald and we also had that dude from "My Classic Car" filming that day. This thing will only get bigger. I'm sure the exelent weather had something to do with it as well.

I finaly got to expieriance the whole thing, from the Friday pre-party, to getting to the gate at a quarter to seven, bands , meet & greet, cars, making new friends, to closing the bar and loitering till 2 a.m. on Saturday, I did it all. I can't wait till next year.

I overslept for the first time in 3 years. I blame it on the Canadians showing up @ 2 am with a trunk full of beer.

I got there too late to take pictures WITHOUT a ton of people around the cars and was too hung over/ tired to take as many as I wanted.

    But, here are mine:

Explantion of the tire shots - my boyfriend couldn't make it and he loves tires.

Great show as usual, great meeting new people and running into old friends. Looking forward to next year.

Some one really needs to track down some history on the 36 Cabrio. The story goes from what I was told some guy drove up from California in the 60's and broke down in southern Illinois. The guy needed to buy a new car and sold the 36 to a farmer who then stashed it away for more than 40 years.2 years ago the farmer did some updating and got the old girl running. It was a real treat to look at in person.Chrome dash,Desoto bumpers and many other neat touches. The best part of the whole car is some kid signed the panel in the rumble seat are in 1940.I believe it said TUT 1940.A truly best of show IMHO.-Drew

    I'm beat. :D

Thanks to everyone who made the journey there especially all the volunteers, without them, we couldn't do it at all. Extra special thanks to The Blacktop Barons, Suedes, and Voodoo Kings for helping us stick to our own criteria at the gate. Even though a few violations slipped by, almost all the cars that got in fit the show to a T.

    Ok, get this...
    2002... 50s/60s drizzle and sun... 80 cars
    2003... low 70s and sunny... 200 cars
    2004... low 70s and sunny... 400 cars
    2005... mid 50s and cloudy... 800 cars
    2006... low 50s and sunny... 800 cars

It was in the low 60s and cloudy this year. Anyone want to guess how many traditional hot rod and custom cars and bikes we had inside the gate? I'll give you a clue... My wife counted 600 pre-70s cars in the spectator lot that did NOT make it inside.

  16. excellent pics. on a side note, as i stood in line for a corndog i heard an older couple behind me talking about how they really preferred this to other types of car shows, and then the wife mentioned, this was the most fun she'd had at a car show in a long time. It put a smile on my face knowing that everyone is entertained by an event like the hunnert car pileup. I know the first one i attended had me hooked! thanks to everyone for an excellent time!

Extra super special deLuxe thanks to DumbWhore for managing all the volunteers, putting out fires, keeping us in line and keeping use from freaking out!

That grey ford with the Olds grille belongs to Al from the Blacktop Barons.. and was part of the Pileup logo this year. I think it's a survivor that he saved from a street rodder. It was hot raspberry when he rescued it

Friday after I got most of the vendors and swappers set up, I headed back to the hotel before heading to the bar to get the bands settled. I walked in the room and my wife says "I don't know what the HELL is parked below us, but it's the LOUDEST thing I've ever heard! The whole room was SHAKING!!" I looked at the walls and the pictures were crooked. Then I remembered seeing a maid carrying out a shattered picture frame from the room below us. I walked to the window and looked outside. "Oh, Bass is here!" :D
