Major excuses has my money and yesterday received a email from his son his dad died and all contracts are null and void.Hope no other hambers have any dealings with this guy his name again,Mike Woody Newton Iowa, turned it over to the local police dept and thinking of also the fbi for wire fraud, miserable mess, could be scamming others

  2. I was all over that stuff too, and had several emails with that guy. The pics he sent were just tooo good for that stuff to be sold so cheap! His explanation was it was a divorce sale [IMG]
I smelled a rat and all but accused him of being a scammer, to which he replied "it's your loss"...looks like it woulda been for sure. Sorry he got ya, man. [IMG]

He posted it here? What's the link? Is it possible that he really did pass away?

If it is a scam, and it was on this board, we should be able to get it handled. Ryan won't be too happy. And there are a lot of us that the guy will have to deal with.

First, let's make sure that we aren't dealing with a grieving family.

It looks like the guy did indeed die. I did a quick search and found this.

Of course someone could have been using his name. It might pay to contact this newspaper for a full copy of his obit even if you have to pay for it.

  6. It was posted over at HEMI's model car board, and he linked it in an ad in the HAMB classifieds on 3/16.
HEMI was just tryin to help/alert us to some BBC stuff.

I would e-mail his son back and tell him that all contracts are null and void upon refund of monies sent, or receipt of merchandise that said money was for. I would also advise him that my attorney will be filing with probate court for a full refund, and have my attorney DO it. Claims against an estate can tie it up for years. Apparently he wanted to play hardball. Now you're up to bat...

    Nice family.

    He owed you money.
You now have a claim against his estate.
Find out which lawyer is handling Probate.

If in fact it was him who died,
    and not his father,brother,or uncle.

Just because he died doesn't mean they don't have to give you your money back or give you what you paid for. Get a lawyer, seriously.

Let me get this straight. His father dies and within hours he's emailing people and telling them that they can kiss their money goodbye? Jeez, what a loving son.

Yep, that's how we do it in the land of cardiac arrest...

Just kidding, this*****s. I hate to see someone from Iowa be such a******. We don't need a bad reputation, we're supposed to be nice folks. [IMG]

I don't know the accused - or even where in this god forsaken state that Newton, IA is. Sounds familiar though so it can't be too far. I live right on the Mississippi River so it must be west of here. [IMG]

I hope things work out for you.

Newton's about 30 minutes south of me, but I don't know any Mike Woodys. I guy I work with lives in Newton though. If you need some info I can possibly dig something up.

If the guy really died, getting a lawyer to squeeze his estate might be the best way.

Let me know what you might want me to do. PM's might work better than publishing for all the world to see.

    Asshole.
Once again it goes to prove that you can never trust a person with two first names.

I usualy work on the other side of the estate issue but it is true that a persons estate is a matter of public record. You can hold up the settlement of the estate indeffinatly if you wish. It is a common scam for some one to get a decd. persons records (just ask at the court house)and continualy file for some of there****ets even though they have no right to them. The estate can not be closed and money ditributed to the family untill all debts are paid first. Usualy the family will settle in order to get the ordeal behind them. I have heard Maralyn Monroe's estate is still open for this reason. Thats why having everything in the name of a trust is a good idea. Hopefully this guy was not that smart.

If you have access to the documentation that you did send money to him, and that he cashed it, and that you indeed did not recieve product, then you have a legal right to a portion of his estate if he is indeed dead.

E-mail that***** kid back and tell him you want the divisional section, plot of land that the house sits on and he needs to move that damn house off your property. (Dont really do that!)

Really a lawyer should be able to help you out if you can document your side. If you didnt save any documantation, then you kinda SOL.

He probably felt guilty for ripping you off and couldn't take it anymore. Seriously though, just goes to show you that by screwing people over you're really screwing yourself. Sad story indeed.
