Headed Home Saturday Night Instead Of Waiting "till Sunday...............................................................................
Well, if driving a ******* hot rod is like riding a motorcylce in the rain I guess it makes you a real rodder. I rode about 60 miles in a pounding rain storm on my bike coming home from the races and the group I was with were all seasoned riders and they said that ride made me "one of them". I thought that was the balls!
Okay, I nominate this as the best thread ***le from the main page ever, intended or not. No if ands or *****S.
Neat car man, you were next to our basecamp, stop by next year and we will spill a beer on ya! For the record we ran in rain almost all the way to Rapid City. 900 miles worth.
Yea it made for an interesting drive back to Omaha too. Rob Lee was running slicks on his modified P/U and it got a little loose on him a couple times. Gary
Every year I tell myself Im going to get electric wippers on my Olds.I stopped at a Walmart and bought some rain-X. That helped alot. the interstate got a little hairy through the construction zones though. Hope every one made it home ok. It was well worth it and Id do it again. Chuck
I had the same fun although my truck has a roof.... running the slicks in the rear made it more enjoyable...if i wanted it to be...
a***** I p***ed you just south of Elburn, I was heading back down for the Lions car show. Your car looked great with the 4 rooster tails of water from the tires! What was really funny is that it did not rain in morris on Sunday. Once we got past yorkville it was dry!
Luckily the rain held out around Morris and the Lions show! Although it was spitting enough that we couldn't pull the bare metal truck out of the trailer to display it. *****in car.
We left for home from Joliet sunday afternoon, we didnt get any rain for a lot of the way home, Me Tuck and Joel cut off from the rest opf the danger danger crew near Lake Gineiva, then headed towards madison, then back on 90/94, we didnt get rain till the dells or so, then it was on and off, then we got to Tomah and it had stopped for the most part, then we got to Eau claire and it rained the whole last 75 miles for me!! i just went about 80 the rest of the way home and didnt get too wet. jeff
I sure hope that didn't put a damper on how your wife felt about the event. I'm going to ***ume she was riding with you? It was great seeing you again and meeting your wife. Thank you so much for the louvered key fob. As soon as I get to Austin on Friday I'm sticking it on Big Odls' key ring. A ***** and his lovely wife
Actually My son Jon drove most of the way home and I rode shotgun. Pat followed us in the family car! All three of us had a very fun weekend, rain and all.
Oh Yea, looking at the median at about a 2 oclock postion was not fun ,'well ok sorta All I really needed to do was slow down a little and it wasn't to bad. Now I know why your screen name is hot-rodroadster your car is as nice as it could be and like I was telling you I hope my roadster looks that good going down the road. Later Rob
