not the BEST score... but on the way to the pileup i was talkin to piero about needing to find a chrome generator... he found me one in the swap meet for $65, in pretty nice condition, cant beat that ... other than that, $2 w***ell gas tank (sold for $150), $3 bates NOS leather saddle bags (sold for $180), $5 ****tail mufflers (sold for $180), lots of motorcycle ****... scored a few lil car parts here and there that are cool as **** like gauges, but nothing worth CRAZY money
Now thats a damn good deal... The best deal I ever got was sore feet and some moon disks for 20 bucks.
I bought what looked like a NOS Rochester 2gc for $20. It didnt have any idle circuits and it had a big vacuum diaphram attached to it.

anything Mopar at a swap meet is a score. at the last one, i got the 2 x 4 tunnel ram for my 440 for $140.. the one before I got a set of headers for the same 440 for $35.00, I plan on cutting them up and use the flanges to make my own, but ****, 35. for a set of mopar flanges
Not from a swap meet, but a friend of mine was on his way to the s**** dealer with this 1957 DeSoto Hemi in the back of his pickup. Gave him $100 for it.... Dis***embled, but complete minus the oil pan, carb, and dist....
This year I didn't buy much at the swap meets. Got a few '35 Ford wires for $5-$10 each, i'm hoarding those. I got a super cool gl*** door off an old gas pump, chrome around the sides with clear gl*** that says "Super Boron" on top, for $5, should be really easy to make it into a picture frame. Getting good deals at the swaps involves having money to spend and actually going there to look around. Last year's Iola I came home with my car full of stuff and all I could s****e together to bring was $10.58
Thats what im talking about. I got a early b&m gate shifter (small chrome box style) for $20. also at the fall e-town meet.
Half of a 57-60 Ford F100 for $70.00...........well a trailer made out of one......sold the 16x4.5" whels for $90,the 3.70 geared 9" rear for $125....and still have the bed....its on evilbay right now...
BTW....not even going to say what I paid for all the **** I bought at an auction this past weekend....just a hint...got $150 for 5 hubcaps and a mirror on ebay already and thats about 75% of what I paid for everything I bought....
I bought a pair of NOS 15 x 10 and 15 x 4 early Keystone Kl***ics $150 for all four. Pair of 16 x 10 ET IIIs for $125 Pair of 15 x 10 American 200s for $125 My first swapmeet in 1979 I was 16 and bought an Edmunds 2 duece flathead intake with 2 97s for $15
I got 100 late 50's and early 60's Rod and Custom and Hot Rod mags for 200 bucks. I felt good about that one and I haven't finished reading them all yet.
I get all sorts of neat-o stuff at swap meets. the best deal I got last weekend at Turlock was an uncut 36 ford dash for $25.00. had the glovebox door but no other trim or gauges. I saw a cut one for $100.00 and another cherry one for $200.00 at the same swap. got a milk crate full of 37 38 39 chevy stuff for 10 bucks. door latches, window crank mechanisms, hinges and other misc junk. I also got an early pair of M/T small block valve covers. they say 327 inside, and have no spots to pop out for PCV or an oil fill hole. a while back I found some M/T BBC valve covers with offy breathers for $40.00, sold the breathers for $100.00 and the valve covers for $40.00 got a SW greenline 2 5/8 va***e gauge for 15 bucks sold it for $200.00 I always dig in the boxes in the back of peoples spots. the junk they don't even empty out. I find more good junk in those boxes for cheap. I got a 60's shift knob with the feet on it.. 2 facing up, with 2 facing down in between them... the old "doin' it" feet from the 60's. paid a buck and sold it for $66.00!! I thought I might get 15 bucks for it...
Is this a score? After letting the former owner know it would be much loved and on it's way to the Salt, we got it with much ****ering for the equivalent of $150.00! And yes, that is the magnesium center section.
Did pretty well at Stafford this year. My best deals were: Split 40's bones, $40. T-5 trans, $50. A pair of cool headlights, $10. Programmable handheld scanner, seems brand new, $20. Maybe not the best ever deals, but it was stuff I needed, so I was pleased. Pete
