I wish I would have taken more pics, but I always seemed to get side tracked. There was just way too much cool stuff to see, cool people to talk to, and.. oh yeah, try and race. Without a doubt this was the coolest car at the event. Untouched since 1965!
You may remember this car from Hot Rod magazine. I talked the owner (Auggie) for a long time. The car has a mechanical injection setup and is street driven. Pulled a nice wheelie on Saturday.
This car was sitting in the hotel parking lot every morning. Surprisingly had plenty of parking room at the Ol Days Inn. High speed blow out in the desert.
No, it was just recently pulled from a barn/garage along with the red '40 Ford Coupe that sat next to it. I heard that the Silver Dollar was for sale with a price of $200Gs. Yikes!
Thanks for sharing, looks like they had some killer cars there. Glad the $200,000/$190,000 deal got straightened out, I hate it when someone is reported to be asking an astronomical price for something when in reality the price easily matches a K-Mart blue Light Special. Frank
Like someone had mentioned to me, you really needed to walk the pits to see everything. The Original 15oz Coupe was pitted ALLLLL the way at the last turn road. That car gave me goose bumps. Everytime I went by it, I didn't have my camera.
The Vette on the trailer is Dave Clarks, he is wanting any info on it. The car is from Fresno CA and is called the Half Breed, it ran from 1966 to 1974 with an injected Hemi. I supplied the front axle for the car to get it to the Reunion.
all time cl***ic "OH ****" magazine photo, the reaction of the the driver is priceless, hope he kept his feet intact! the old style cars just keep coming out of the woodwork,I GOTTA hit CHRR one of these years.
