Damn. I was away for a half hour and there's already a few killer posts! Ubermustang those are great.

A couple of years ago I took a trip to a scrapyard and spent a whole afternoon in it. It was specialised in older cars and I loved the atmosphere, the cars, the textures and the smell. I took pictures and painted some watercolors, and made a little book out of them. I think it's time for me to work on it again and change the layout a bit!

  10. Awesome stuff everyone! Makes me itching to see if I can still get off the caps of my dried-out old paint-tubes when I see some of your original paintings. I'll post some of my early oil paintings in the Halloween show next week.

Did this drawing as my submission for the Art Challenge earlier this week:

  12. This is the best Friday Art Show start ever!!!!!

    Tingler - You remain unbelievable

Lowcab - I look for you every week here

MR NORWELL - I'm forever in awe of your immense talent

    Flyingpolock - Nice encores

    Ubermustang - Simply gorgeous - I'm stunned

I'm a little reluctant to post this for fear it will diminish this fantastic thread:eek:. Another Hunnert Car Pileup has unofficially marked the end of the outdoor car season in the Chicago area so it's time to get started on the charity panels. It's been hard focusing the past couple of weeks but I've got to get on track. This is a metallic charcoal panel with black, four grays and white striping. It's for the Chicago World of Wheels inaugural Chicago Brushmasters Charity Auction to be held January 25, 26, 27 at McCormick Place.

You're knockin' my socks off with this pen work Jeff! This one in particular speaks to me because I so vividly remember standing in that exact same spot this past spring.

  16. Damn Norwell you rock! Another Canadian to be damn proud of!!!! Right up there with Shania and Bobby Orr....enough kissing ass now.

  17. Amazing stuff Mr. Norwell!
Tingler, you're going to have to get pretty wierd next week for the Haloween 'Spook'taclular!!!
Robin, Uber'stang, Cory, Dutch, ect... great SHOW!!!
LoCab, that's a sweet Ford (note any view piont similarities)
Here's my bits for the week,

    This '59 wears a '58 flare...

This is my take on a factory built custom pinned by Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for the 1940 Nash. He chopped, channeled, shaved and fabricated a pretty nice ride which, no doubt, inspired many. I dropped it
down and took a shot at refining one sore spot in the design of the rear bustle as well as further deletting some bright work on the bumpers and in the rear. Pontiac or Cord tail lights grace the slightly altered trunk and thicker, curvier bars grace the center grille section. Smooth moons clean up the wheels a bit, too

...and finally, here's a concept sketch I'm consideing using on my submission for the '40 Ford design contest (feedback appreciated)
(LowCab, this is only a portion of the drawing)

    Saturday Morning...

A Saturday morning on a clear fall day.
You and the machine that you made.

The paint shines. The exhaust barks.
    Pure automotive Zen.

Mr. Norwell those "sketches" look like tight finished pencils to me. I'm totally blown away. Makes my sketches look like a total mess. Thanks for the inspiration.
