what part or item are you looking for that is NOT repoped? I love useing NOS parts when I can but, for some cars its really hard Im looking for 59 buick back up lights. no one repops them. Thay sat really low, there pot metal and rusted fast so if and when you do find them there half a mint ,also trim no repops it, I can olny hunt down NOS. So I guess Im looking for others like me what can't you guys get?...and the 59 buick is ONE year body style so that just ads to the fun.
I think this type of "wish list" thread has been done before....about 10 pages or more worth! Try the search feature.....
Well then how about what are you tryerd of looking for? me I can't find a set of back up lights or 2 door trim anywere in the western world. I love swap meets and all but dam I just want to find this stuff, ya know?
Model a cast aluminum timing cover that has a side drive mag adapter cast into it. Yes they made plenty back when men were men.
Pot metal (actually a zinc alloy in automotive diecast parts) does not rust. If chrome-plated it blisters from escaping gases captured in the alloy during the plating process, then corrodes to a powdery mess from axposure to the elements, especially road grime, salts etc.
master cylinder rubbers, no one sells just the rubbers anymore, not that i can find, dam 20 years ago every parts store had a box in the back filled with every kind of rubber you could want, what the hell happened?
Our parts store has a box of rubbers in the bathroom, any kind you want only 75 cents. Oh wait....wrong rubbers..I wish they repopped full 57-60 Ford F-Series front fenders. I have a '60 F100, '57 F750, and '59 F600, and they all need front fenders. Not just the rear halves they sell in truck catalogs. I think the 750 is gonna be a little tricky though.
I need the fender bulge/bubble on the front quarter of the rear of my 53 chevy, no one makes it. I also need a tailpan for my 53, but I figure I could make that easy enough.
A reproduction trunk lid for a 41 Ford business coupe, metal or fiberglas..all the companies tell me the 41-46 aren't popular enough to go into,,story of my life..
I don't understand why no one has reproduced the lower front quarter panel you speak of. I lucked out, and found an old Schofiled patch panel of one at a swap meet, and could barely make it back to my truck with it without others trying to buy it from me.
Yea, I was thinking the exact same thing after I looked for one for a few days. From looking at some 53s in junkyards and stuff, it seems like that area is a common place to have rust out on those cars. My car had skins over the quarters that had rotted out, so there has to be some around still. Sadly, both skins are just as rotted as the area, so unless I flip them over and swap sides and do some serious body work, I still have to try to find a set.
A simple on-off torque tube overdrive that is affordable and reliable! I have found a few used originals without known history, too high collector's pricing and a current manufacturer for twice that amount. I guess the reproduction business is always about demand and prices often reflect that.
