changeover to five lug wheels

    i just bought a 40 chev sedan and would like to change to five lug wheel,any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    first figure out what else you want to do. Why do you want to go to 5 lug wheels? How do you feel about using the brakes that are on it now? (in 51 they went to a much better design drum brake). Will you keep the existing driveline and engine? if not, then the swap will probably involve a different transmission as well.

    do you want to keep the torque tube? is so - swap a 50-54 powerglide unit in and you are good to go. Same with the fronts - 52-54 had bendix style brakes instead of the huck you now have

    just the start of a project,which involves a 3.55 ring and pinion,late model 235 six. this car is all original. just want to make a few mods as not to alter her appearance to much and at the same time make it a better driver.

    how will 5 lug wheels make the car a better driver.you can get 16" radials if thats what your after, radials.

    seems to be more choices of types of wheel and tires for 15 inch.then latter on when money situation gets better i'll be able to upgrade more.etc etc.i'm not looking for radial tires.
