iNTERESTING THREAD. I have owned a Speedster for quite a few years and have driven the wheels off it!! A "speedster" can be anything with a Model T chassis and engine in it!!! No body, partial body with two seats , always no fenders etc. I now have two of the cars and have started a third , they are addictive!!! Of all the hot rods i own the T speedster may be ny ( and my wifes) favorite cars. Reason is we belong to a really active T group in Indiana ( Indy 500 Chapter of the Model t Club) that runs their cars. These are just a few of the hundreds of shots i have taken while driving my T speedster. Glad to help anyone that wishes to put one of these cars together in any way. The last tour i was on lasted four days if ya wanted to go all days and ran approx 100 plus miles each and every days. 65-75 cars. Really neat locations each day especially on the Covered Bridge Tour in Rockville Indiana.
Its your lucky day! This car is owned by a fellow club member from Monrovia Indiana and i had some pics! The axle is a special 7 inch drop made by another friend in Martinsville Indianan. Cool car Bruce and his wife Kay drive the wheels off the car and has been on almost every run i go to in the Midwest. Bruce climbing the famous Newport Hill..
Mr. Biscuit, Gotta say how much I admire your speedster, especially with the updated body. And I agree, that green car I posted earlier has absolutely beautiful lines- it's the inspiration for the one I hope to build (with a few modifications to the body for my 6'6" hieght). Keep the pics coming from your shop- it's great material to study and drool over!
I can't wait to finish my RPU. I've been itching to get started on a speedster I could haul around with it. Where does one get those really fine spoked rims? I never see this kind of stuff at swap meets where I live.
I love Speedsters, although I have never owned one,... But the cars that really knock me out are 1912-1914 Stutz Bearcat's and Mercer Raceabouts,..... any of you guys with me on this ?
