Newbie in need of serious help

I have been lurking on this site for a while; usually browsing the general discussion and classifieds. This site and a good number of member cars rock!!!

Two years ago I moved to SW Florida, minutes away from Punta Gorda. Up until the middle of last year, it never occured to me that I would ever own a street rod. I own an incomplete 34 Ford Tudor, and need a good deal of help. If anyone out there knows of a competent builder/welder/fabricator please pm me with any information.

Hopefully, this request is not in bad form as this is my first post.

I'm more than willing to learn. I just don't know where to start. How long would it take to learn how to weld good enough to finish off my project?
