i have to applaud kevin(hotrodch***is) for turning away that golf cart. it always got in in years past because the inspectors pre-inspecting the cars waiting in line never heard it run. it's powered by a lawn mower engine.
That thing is a ****ing abortion! I'm going to make millions by selling un-chop post rebuild kits ( thats trade marked, by the way). After this rat rod/ shock rod thing dies a hideous death, real roders will buy these things for pennies on the dollar, and will want to make them drivable. But how to raise the roof to a reasonable hight? Thats were I step in.
Please tell me that this is not old skool. Maybe I'm just not getting it. To each there own but, I wouldn't drive that thing to a **** fight and use it as a shield. I would have let the golf cart Bantom in before the chopped to **** clown car.
I just got yelled at for laughing my *** off after reading that as it "Interrupted her viewing of Law & Order"
Sorry,,,but,,,that thing was the most ****IN ugly rod I've seen! Pure ****. (just readthe editorial in Rod & Kulture!) The lines **** on it, I walked by that thing twice at the hunnert & LAUGHED or SMIIRKED every time.......Get this gosh damn "shock rod" thing over with already...please!
Just how the hell does an average size guy get in and out of that ruined sedan with the dumb catapiller radiator? Never mind trying to look cool when you do it. Thats gotta be trailered or on bags. I cant imagine seeing ANYTHING over that radiator and carb setup. yea... its the lowest, but.......DUMB .02
The sad thing is, I seen a hand full of people really looking at my sedan, but this thing had a crowd around it all day, and when the show coverage comes out in the magazines, I imagine it will be the largest shot in the coverage. It gives the rest of us a bad name. It's a **** wagon!
I agree, The cool stuff definately out weighed the abstract. It is wrong to generalize the show as having "ugly" stuff there due to a few cars.
in my opinon that whole laying frame thing only looks good on sleds and a few mid sixi=ties cars thats not the way a hot rod should be, and i was there that guys trailer was at walmart...fo sho
there were only a handfull of those there... waaay better than in the past. I only recall 5 that made me think WFT. The quality of rides was better this year.
I didn't see it drive in, but my guess is that the top comes off and he drives it with his head sticking through. Harry and the Henderson's style!
To try and turn this thread around, there were only a few (I could count the number on one hand) turdmobiles that got in. The quality of the cars this year was top notch. I never gave these pieces of **** a second look. I was too interested in the awsome cars that were there.
I looked at my "no No NO!" pictures this morning (pictures that are of stuff that is blatantly bad for one reason or another) The number of photos was less than half of what I took last year. I had 10 unique vehicles... 5 hideous abortions and 5 that could have been really good but missed the boat with one thing or another.
I was trying to say that there were at least two ugly rides there (keep in mind I'm sure the owners love em and that's all that matters) , but I didn't want to have to point out which two I thought ****ed.
even the guys on the OSR board were making fun of the Catepillar car... and if they're making fun of a ratty rod, then you know it's beyond bad. But you're right... all the magazines will photo it, and I'm pretty sure that it will be one of the cars featured in My Cl***ic Car's coverage. It's a shame the press is jumping the rat rod trend, but it's "different" and what people want to see. The press and most people will not see the difference between a street rod and traditional rod... nor understand why we turn away cars with nice shiney billet rims
dynobob, why did your 32 sit outside the gate all day? i drove the red vette, i know it didn't fit in real well, but i have some changes planned for next year!!
