Thanks Kev and HemiRambler you are right, mine originally had in 1964 basic panels which would be more easily made but I sure like the chute packs especially alum....By the way HemiRambler what is the grade and thickness of aluminum that you use is it 3003 alloy 063...?
It's OK, you can say...... "I have a tail fettish" we all understand. I love them too, no comparison to the newer FED's. Thanks for the good shots. I did'nt see them all on Sunday. Joe
OT?? No way - hell that's like a Friday Night Art Show thread. Some of those tails are just beautiful. Thanks for taking the pics and posting them.
Yep, 3003-H14. I used .063" for anything that had lots of shape (compund curves) - the rest of the panels that were more simple - like side panels - I used .050" Please post a pic of your digger - I love seeing the old ones!
Great pics Kev it was good to hook up with you again, had a great time on our visit again & as always at Famoso. Kev.
Kiwi Kev, (re Dragster Tails) nice to view all those delightful compound curves, but please tell me... what was that inline flathead in one of the cars? It surely looked like a straight 8 to me! Was it Packard? Hudson? '40's aircraft? ...and if you could , pls., email me a jpeg of the intake/exhaust-side view of this mill to: lee@trill.ca Thanks! and keep up the great work in Ventura!
