The Bowling Green venue gets me excited. The Norwalk one I'll probably attend depending on the date. The one in PA I'll pass cuz I'm heading to the Jalopy Drags for sure that weekend.

Let us know as soon as you can KIRK!. I'd like to get reservations ASAP in Bowling Green BEFORE the hotels/motels find out and jack up their prices.:D

  2. Bowling Green!! I am there! This will be a great event!

I hope it is Bowling Green. Such a great place.

  4. Pocono Raceway and Beaver Springs are only a couple of hours apart. No problem for those who drive their cars. Get a motel in between and enjoy the contast between the two.

    Kirk,

Hypothetically speaking, if I were going to book a room for a Goodguys event in BG, what dates might I look at.

You have went this far, you might as well spill it. We wont tell!

Excellent. I miss Bowling Green and look forward to going back. Despite being a member I haven't been to a Goodguys show in several years. Hopefully it's in the spring or fall when the weather is cooler.

52 weeks in a year and they can only find the two weeks of the Showdowns to try their deals (sorry that Hershey thing didnt work out for you) in PA?? WTF? I guess local shows are not even a consideration in the GG big picture. Thanks for keeping those pesky street rods away for me. Also thanks to all the HAMB'ers for hangin' in with us every year.

Hey Scary, Thank you for havin' your events.
Kirk/GG, Thanks for stayin' in the area.
I think that even if the shows end up on the same weekend there are enough cars/people to support both events.
    GG Hershey/Latimore worked before.
    Pocono/Beaver ? no problem...
    Have fun,Smokey

Hotel Booked for Poconos .... last week on the early tip

Thanks KIRK ..for the Ofishall Word !!

  16. This is flippin' sweet.:D

    ...and smart.

I'm assuming at Beech Bend ?

Cooler weather, trees turning, this could even top the original nhra deal. Everyone hated this show moving, they'll be back in droves.

Nostalgia drag & Fuel cars, racing and all ?

    Host hotel ?

I'm there. "Back" there, that is.

KIRK,,i dont think it was so much as what "they" did...but rather the fact that this place(beech bend) is like,...when you make it through the gates is like DisneyLand for HOTRODDERS....you drive down this 2 or 3 mile road of the most beautiful scenic drive lined with rolling bluegrass and black wooden fences,,,thinking "where the hell am i going?" then al of a sudden, you crest the hill and it's as if you arrive to a Hot Rod EDEN...a portal through time...
,,i dont think its so much as what "they" did...but rather what the people did....

....build it and they will come.....:)

I too would love to know what the host hotel is going to be for Bowling Green.

I have already decided I will be at this event.

Is the Blue Suede Cruise going to be run the same as in the past or is it going to be a different show with the same name? What I mean is, will you still be able run your car on the track with your paid admission? This has been a fun show to attend, camping in the woods and trying to break my car all weekend. I think with GG behind it, the show has potential to be bigger and better, but I would hate for it to lose the atmosphere that it had until this year. I also think Bowling Green sounds like a blast, never made it to the nhra deal there, and have regretted it. Keep us posted on when registration is open for the new events.

Nitro...AGAIN Goodguys has put their event the same weekend as one of Larry's shows. This time the drags!

Will I be going to the Poconos... I guess you know that answer.

That's what I was wondering as well. However, I fear with the prospect of the large crowds our Blue Suede of the past is gone forever. Kind of ironic how the event went so sour this year, got cancelled and now is slated as a Goodguys event in 2008...hmmm:rolleyes:
I think Kirk and Goodguys have their work cut out for them after all of the hurt feelings this past year.

So Kirk, will there be a HA/GR class there? :D

    I'm stoked!

This will be a GREAT show!

The HRR was usually hot as hell, the weather in mid-october should be VERY nice.

It's just coincidence. The venues have limited availability. In fact, Pococno had only that weekend open.

Rich, do you or anyone else remember what the host hotel was for the HRR?

I would love to try to get a jump on the hotels.

From what has been discussed in meetings, the show is to remain the same. I'll know more as it gets closer.
