Hi yall, I just bought a 40 Dodge 2d sedan that I want to build. I was also given a 326 poly w/ 3speed that I want to put in it. My question is, If I want to get a 60's g***er look from it, will the stock front end be OK to use? Also, what rear ends would yall recommend? Thanks and nice to be here.
Had to get back to work yesterday, so I cut it short. Anyways, I'm from San Antonio and I own a motorcycle suspension and repair shop. I specialize roadracing motorcycles, both vintage and modern. I've won a few CMRA Roadracing Championships on several different types of bikes. I also build custom roadrace parts for endurance and sprint motorcycles. I've been looking for a car for a few months and the 40 Dodge just fell into my hands. I figured it was a good car to start on. Anyone else from SA?
Welcome to the H.A.M.B., You could use the stock front end and put those twist in blocks to raise the frontend if you want. IMO it would look better with a straight axle, but I would definately use a 9''.

I finally was ably to get my car to my shop yesterday. As I was digging it out of the barn I could see that is was not a 40 Dodge, it had a Plymouth hubcap and hood emblem in the trunk. Once I got it here I started looking and it seems to be a 41 Plymouth. But I'm going to look for the numbers later today, just to make sure. I'll also post some pix later. I actually think its better looking than the Dodge so I'm happy.
Yeah! Let's see some pictures so someone can tell you what kind of MoPar you've got there. Seriously, welcome aboard. Enjoy!
