belvedere rat

    just picked up the new ol skool rodz yesterday and i love the article about the belvedere rat, i guess 50 years ago somewhere in arizona for the towns 5oth birthday they buried a brand new 57 belvedere in some kind of time capsule hoping to preserve it and dig it up 50 years later on the towns 100th birthday last month but the prestine 57 didnt come out this way and it came out this ****ing awsome looking taildragger and i was wondering if anyone has any other pictures besides the ones in the magazine

    i also heard that there are these guys in southern cal building these hot rods that they call "RAT RODS".(whatever that is supposed to mean?) they are supposed to be 'ol timey throw back cars built in the way they did them back in the 1940's an 50's.something about going against the big dollar street rods or something...
    I would love to see some pics of them too.

    The hits just keep coming from the newbies. Google would be a less biased place to look for info or pictures on that or any combination of the words rat and rod.

    I've been out of town for a little while (Navy) and skimmed through the OSR and read the article while I was waiting for the wife shopping. Last I knew it was a piece o' ****, but I didn't hear anything about what they were going to do with it or what kind of shape it was really in (other than covered with **** and rust). What are the plans for it, sorry I didn't get all of the way through the article due to the fact that I couldn't tell if they (OSR) thought the patina was cool for real or not.
