What fluid to use in a vintage sprintcar steering box

  1. Do these old girls require anything special for lubricant?

    How old? My converted Franklin had light grease in it.

    I would think gear lube would be used in most of 'em.
     
  4. I ran 90 weight gear lube in my Norden gear. It was the same Lubrication Engineers (red stuff) that I used in the quick-change.

    I use Delco Penn heavy if the box is loose

    And Army surplus grease on the good ones........ I have several cans.

    Even when full you can see the bottom of the can.

    I'll try to get the spec# if you wish, but have to find the can in this mess
