I was looking at using a model A frame since I already have it to build a 34 pickup. This will just be an open fender ride and I plan on channeling it about 4 inches. Will this work ok or should I find a 34 frame? What are 33/34 frames going for these days?
You're probably better off with a model A style frame/homemade frame because you're channelling it. The 34 frames are beefy for a channelled truck, but could be made to work.
My 33 is on an A chassis. The box and fenders are A also. The A chassis is shorter than the 33 or 34 frame.
My '33 is going on an A frame. I'll probably end up channeling it 3." I already chopped the cab 3." Jeez, I never realized, there's a lot of 3's going on here. I'm going with the stock "A" 103 1/2" wheelbase, because I want to avoid the stretched out look (just a personal preference). No suicide front end. I love the simplicity of the "A" frame.
Thanks Stick Shift, I like the stance! I can't believe you committed the ultimate sin and painted a fake name on the door when it was probably not a real shop truck in the first place!!!! Oh the Humanity !!
My friend is doing just that, a channelled and chopped 34 on an A frame. His his an A bed that he shortened 9" I think. It is SWEET.
buy a set of american stamping 32 rails and build yourself a highboy pickup, you will be much happier and more comfortable, unless you are a midget.....
