I was checking out an older magazine with coverage of the 17th annual NSRA nats. There was a pic of a yellow T roadster powered with a Corvair motor. The car at the time was owned by Bill Bowman from Chicago. Does anyone have any other pics of this car?
I remember the car you are talking about. It was later painted yellow by the new owner. I Saw it in Detroit years ago. I think I have a picture around here somewhere.
A friend of mine in Walnut Creek Ca owned it in the late 80's, early 90's. It was black, and he pulled it around in an enclosed trailer that opened up like a clam shell, it was hinged on the side. Really cool car. It would get hot if you drove it much, all the cooling tin was removed. The owner that painted it yellow, built some cooling tin for it. It was red, then black, then yellow. I think my friend traded a 55 Nomad for it.
J Man, Here is what is in my 1973 November Rod Action. Hope you all enjoy. I think an upate power plant i.e. a Subaru would make ideal in this century. Love the stance. Would also change the interior from weave to baseball s***ch. DFE
I owned the car that you saw in OKC in 1986. Originally built in Chicago by A chevy mechanic named Don Kendall. Quite an engineering piece. Don sold it to a Jim White, who took the car to Ca. The Br*** headlamps and grille shell were added, along with the wing. A friend of my who raced midgets, saw the car at an auction in CA and bought it. I bought it from him. I changed the color to yellow, showed it on the ISCA circuit, then leased the car to Phillip Morris for a tour in Germany for a year. After I got it back, I traded the car and trailer to a guy in Michigan for another car. 1971 NSRA in Tulsa it was voted best engineered. Stu
