Im new to the flattie seen and i have a question. I pulled my valves out today to unstick them and i was wondering if it is normal for the exhaust valves to not have valve seals?

Intake valve guides get the seals, the exhaust guides doesn't.

    Hey,
New to flatheads myself but from what I've been learning they seem to be only on the intakes and there is some opposing school of thought as to whether they are needed at all. Lots of people here with way more knowledge that might be able to shed some more light.

Intake port sees vacum. It may tend to suck oil in. So it gets a seal. Exhaust port sees pressure. Shouldn't need a seal, but lots of them get one anyway.
