so i'm on my way to the shop this morning and i get nailed by a guy who crosses over into my lane, his story is that he thought his untied dog on the back of his pickup was going to jump off and he was trying to reach back and swat it, he comes all the way into my lane and hits me in the drivers rear fender doing about 30, rips off my fender, snaps the spring off, rips a chunck out of the frame, what a way to start the week.

Budd, glad you are okay, sorry about the truck. Was the other guy ticketed?I understand it is illegal,to have an untethered dog,in the back of an open pickup in BC.The driver also was driving without due care.Good Luck with the ICBC bandits!

They have such polite terminologies there. Here's it's just reckless driving

Werd. They probably would have tried to give him an agressive driving ticket if it was in Georgia along with reckless driving. It seems anytime there is an accident in GA, the cops think its do to aggressive driving.

Hauling a dog untied in the back of a pickup truck is a redneck idiot stunt that kills many a good dog on the highway. The bad thing is most of the fools who do it don't give a rat's bohunkas about their dogs anyway.
Sorry to hear about your misadventure, hope the worthless genetic pool polluter who did it gets the maximum fine and has the cash to pay for fixing your truck. Is there room in the back 40 for his unmarked grave?

This thing reminds me of a book I had once called "Rolling Homes". Full of all sorts of homemade log cabins mounted on trucks. Mostly hippie houses but cool nonetheless. Here's one from the book.

Bummer about your truck, some people shouldn't be allowed to drive or own dogs.

    My 2 cents...
    Glad YOU'RE okay.
The truck can be fixed. Bones and viscera are a different story.

Looks like you were lucky that the only damage was what it was... Another 12 inches to the left and he would have had you good.

    Quick related story...

I'm following a couple guys is a mid 70's Chevy pickup with a some kind of heeler mix in the back when we stop at a stop light the dog jumps up on the cross the bed tool box.

Rides along happily with his ears blowing in the wind till the next light, where he jumps on the roof.

At the next light he slides off the roof and lands on the hood.

The two guys just sat there for a minute trying to figure out why a dog just fell out of the sky.

Laughed my *** off over that. still gives me a chuckle.

    The dog was unhurt.

  17. that's a *****in setup you've got there.. Reminds me of my grandpa's stuff.. he could do anything with recycled plywood and housepaint.. and make it look cl***y :)

My dog rides in the back of my truck (guess I'm a redneck idiot).. she loves it so much I couldn't deny her the right.. but she learned early on that it's best to stay in the bed until the truck comes to a full and complete stop..

anyway, that's besides the point, sorry to hear about the mishap, glad you're ok.
