anyone know about this shop in denton, maryland. they did a shoebox ford a couple of years ago that was pretty wild looking. not traditional, but the metal work was incredible. anyone live by the shop or know what im talking about?? id like to see some pics of the finished car. thanks.
I know where it is. i grew up in that area and a friend of mine used to work there. I'll check with him and see if he knows anything about it.
I remember seeing that car when it was up here at Lang's shop. Haven't seen it since. 345window and flamedcoupe run with those guys and I guess they live close by. Clark
if anyones got any pics of it, id love to see them. even if its not done. there was an article about the shop in a street rodder mag a couple of years ago, but i think it only had 1 or 2 small pics of that car. thanks
Can't help you with the pic's but I do know the shop. It is a first cl*** operation! We went up before Christmas to pick up a friends 3-window body and got to check out the shop first hand. It was a great place, clean, no loose ends and about 17 cars going at the time. Ray Bartlett is the owner and all those guys up there treat you like family. 345window let six of us crash at his place. I'm sure they have pics of it at the shop, we looked through binders full of pictures while we ate lunch. Cool shop and great people.
i've seen a bunch of stuff from there...a friend used to work for them and now is out on his own...they do great stuff, but it's alot of high end street rods.
Yup, my Dad sells parts for them. They do awesome work and are great people otherwise My Dad wouldn't be working for them. Bob (345window) will certainly vouch for them as well. I don't have a picture of the car in question, but my Dad might and I can scan and post it. Stacey
i was able to find the street rodder with the article in it. there are 2 pictures of that ford. but anyone that can get any different ones - please do so. thanks.
Call Ray over at the shop and ask him where it's been featured. He probably has them posted on the walls
The shoebox in question was never finished to my knowledge. The owner ran out of money. The last I heard it was for sale. I sell parts for the shop. The car has been gone for at least a year.
The car belongs to Paul Fordice from West Virginia and it has not been completed to my knowledge. I started the car at my shop (Lang's Custom Auto) in Harrisburg, PA a couple of years before I went to Hot Rod Garage in Denton, MD where I completed the metal work. The interior is also roughed in. The owner stopped work on the car due to health reasons. Of all the cars I have worked on, it is probably my favorite and sure would love to see it finished. I have several pictures of the car in various stages. It was for sale at one time but not sure it still is.
There work is TOP NOTCH !! ..**** Applegates ..1941 WILLYS speaks for it .... make sure you have enough change when you go there.
Tokyo, Skidmarks, and I went to their open house a couple years ago.. with fender and HAMMOND. here are a few pics.. I didnt take many.. http://public.fotki.com/sawzallshop/some_photos_from/2005/hot_rod_garage_open/ they DO very high quality work.. they had AT least SIX 40 ford projects at the time I was there (one of which was BILL Baldwins 40 coupe thats on the cover of the current rod and custom.) I hope RAY gets his 40 delivery out soon.. it will be a knockout.. apparently 2005 was the last open house they had.. I understand they have expanded since?
JEP (FNG) has dealt with them and he said that they are a really good shop to deal with. Nothing but praise.
