heres some updates on my car. i just got a motor to plop in there, now i just have to build it up. piles of parts take off
That looks like a very complete car! You ought to be able to finance a lot of hot rod there by selling parts. Looking good...
i even have the original unmolested fenders, runing boards, seats, floor, and mechanical brake system for it too. the only problem is i dont know anyone that can use stuff from a 1928 chevy. i suppose i could try ebay or something. i'm yanking this motor and trans along with the drive axle and rear end. i wonder if someone could use it.... hmm....
Leave the paralell leafs, don't channel it, and you'll have a pretty unique Hot Rod. Is there anyway you could measure from the firewall to the centerline of the axle up front? I need some reference for setting up my '37 to be fenderless with paralell leafs and still look sorta proporitonal.
inkundone, If you want to rid yourself of those antiquated wheels or that horrible little engine PLEASE LET ME KNOW
from the firewall to the center of the wheel its 28 inches. to the center of my front axle its roughly 29 inches.
im thinking about turning the wheels into an end table.... kidding. ive actually been looking for a set of old wide 5's.
Damn, here is a good guy. Frost21 wanted some measurements and he went to the garage in his SOCKS and got them for him. Thats what I love about the HAMB! Neat build, dont see many old Chevys like that.
how the hell did you know i was in my socks? what color boxers am i wearing?? are you that guy thats been stalking my garage?
Hey, Looking good! Are you going to do the underslung frame like Inkorect's car at the PileUp? I was the young kid that you were talking to by his car when you pulled up on your bike. Should be a sweet ride either way!
yes i am. and by the way it was a pleasure meeting you guys and drooling over inkorekt's buick. my wife was asking what girl at the show gave me the ***** i had when i walked back over to her and it was harder trying to explain that it was inkorekts car, and not another girl. i woulda been better off telling her it was some hot pinup model. im still in the process of trying to get the body off the frame right now and pulling the motor and trans out. i just bought 50 feet of 1 inch square tubing and now i gotta find a tubing bender and start welding the inside of the body together so that when i lift it off it doesnt fall apart. hopefully i'll be able to get at the frame and flip it within the next 2 months or so. depends on my tattooing schedule and hunting schedule.
Thanks! I'll have to try them measurements out. Appreciate it, I owned a '31 Chevy five window about two years ago, sold it to buy a car trailer.
Johnny Sparkles is a true Rockstar. PS: I think he is dreamy too. (We know what you were really thinking)
i will keep pics coming, but if any of you bums wanna come to milwaukee and earn some parts you are more than welcome to come over and help with getting this damn body off the frame. pbr in the fridge and a heated garage, what more could a guy want?
How did I miss this thread before? Any pics since you yanked the engine out? Thanks for the compliment Tom, I think you are dreamy too.
yeah i just yanked the motor last weekend with the help from a local Cheater who let me borrow his picker. heres some pics so far. the winter around here has kinda killed things as far as working in the garage, plus im working 58 hour weeks. hopefully i'll get laid off this week so i can get back into the garage.
inkundone please tell me you goin to leave that stance , wheels everything as it sits with a stonkin V8 ! that will make a killer rod and keep the runnin boards for the times you want people to think its stock , then watch their jaws drop when you melt the tires !! and on an ot note did you build that bike ? where ?could you please email me some more pic's and of your friends bikes too . im goin to do a folder " Around the world " on the ROCKERS website (link will be in sig. soon ) thanks in advance also anyone else with an original bike feel free (i hope this does'nt look like a highjack but his garage contents have me droolin!)
