    Evening all!

I have just put fluid in my th350 gearbox in hope that i could give my 1960 apache panel project a short drive. Unfortunately the only gear i could get was reverse:( . The gearbox worked fine six months ago when i took it out a donor vehicle. I did put a b&m shift improver kit in it- could this have something to do with it?

Any help would really be appreciated, Thanks. Steve.

If the trans was working fine before you had the valve body apart, and you're using enough fluid, I'd be guessing you have a valve body problem. Loose bolts, warped case or valve body, pressure issues. I'd be having a look at the shift kit installation first and then going from there if need be. A good trans handbook may help for trouble shooting. I've got an HP books one thats pretty good.

Is the shifter moving through the gear selections ok? Linkage on the trans actually moving when someone (you trust) shifts it?

You got a quart in the converter before installing?
Do you have at least 8-10 in the trans/lines/cooler somewhere?
Did you remember the vacuum line to the carb?
Don't know if the downshift linkage would keep any forward gear from engaging, but either way, check it's not stuck or pinched on something.

Thanks for the fast replys. The linkage is all connected up and i checked it moves the shaft ok. The fluid (dextron II) is showing correct on the dipstick. The vacuum connected to the intake manifold. I didn't drain the converter so presume it had enough fluid in it already.
Any other thoughts before i drop the sump would be welcomed. Thanks again, Steve.

i bet it is the little s hook looking pin that runs the valve actuater in side, if you ****le that all when putting the trans back together it will just have reverse , where it sits, so take off the pan and see
