Worked on a stock car years back. In small print on the rain gutter was written >>> "If you don't like it ,****ya!" Not sure what bought that to mind just now but anyway,,,,,,

one of the best parts of building a car (for me) is the people you meet while obtaining the parts.
the stories they share and the history of those parts.
"This axle was used on my buddies drag car, he spun that car going 100" type of stuff.
my 32 has like 15 guys ***ociated with it, and its just a roller.
I wont forget one of um.
That said, I would love to have this car to beat the **** out of and not have to worry about not being able to replace broken stuff.

There's a difference between bashing the car itself...
And bashing the idea that it's the "Nicest 32 Ford Roadster..."

That's pretty hallowed ground right there.

I was gona run some pics of my new roadster on the HAMB Deuce Club. But since it's made of reproduction parts, but with a real flathead. I guess there's no point!

I think your roadster is awsome!! I think a lot of people already expressed their oppinions ( well recieved) in Garys' post.

What most people are trying to say is" damn that is nice, too bad I cant AFFORD something like that with all new parts" Heck the closest to a real 32 roadster I will get is some old coupe with the roof cut off!

Even though it is an easily duplicated new catalog car, I can give the owner props for at least trying for a traditional look. My preference is old tin (with soul as was said earlier) over something brand new, but I wouldnt call that car a streetrod either. Would have to change the windshied to a Duval though.

Yes, it's nice... but for the nicest '32 Ford roadster, how about Fred Steele's? Built in the early '50s, in many magazines and on at least one album cover, and still in original shape (I heard he recently sold it)....
    check it out here...

    Oh yeah.... it's not black.

Maybe some of you guys missed the "I've ever seen" part of the ***le of the thread,... and How about it all you experts?,.. what do you say?,.. Do the two cars I posted pictures of at the end of page 2 have the all elusive "soul" your talking about,.... come on, you guy's can see through the paint and history of anything at a glance,...

What's the matter? you don't know what there made from and cant tell?,... so your afraid to say anything ? Take a look at the public profile of all the people that are ripping this car,... check out what cars they have (there are a few exceptions),... pretty telling story.

If you think that, there's probably some other message boards that could use your valued opinion...

Buying reproduction parts is ALWAYS a compramise...

My .02. I think it is a cool car as are all the others posted in this thread. I have a lot of respect for all you guys that build your own cars in your garage by yourself, with your buddies with your family. I do not think it really matters whether you tracked and searched every junk yard and swap meet for the right part or scoured the interent catalogs for the right part, to me, in the end, you labored away in your garage to take an idea in your head and turn it into a hot rod. In my opinion the best magazine stories are the ones where Dad works with son or daughter to build a hot rod.

My Uncle recalls him and his Navy buddies building a 32 during their off ours. One of his bud's happened to be the nephew of Iskederian and he said all they wanted to do was take the Olds out of his daily driver and put it in the '32. My Uncle told a lot of cool stories about his youth and hot rodding and you know I never heard any of that until I bought my 29 home to work on. Therefore, in my honest opinion that's what tradition is all about, talking to the guys that did it before us, work on our own stuff and p*** it along to family and friends. Like the ad says, "Take a Kid to a Car Show"

Now do not get me started on the people that buy hot rods like there buying a new car. Anyone can take out a loan and buy a finished hot rod. I flip right past those articles in the magazines. I am not even interested in reading them.

The ***le of the thread is the nicest car HES ever seen. All that means is he doesn't get out much or he has bad taste. The car can't help it if its boring...

You guys kill me. The car looks great to me. If you went back and changed the word "Brookville" to just "steel", and changed "socal speedshop" to "early speedshops", would they think it LOOKS good then? Yep, a REAL hot rod wouldn't have ANY aftermarket parts on it. It would probably be running the original oil, air in the tires, and stock gauges. You couldn't run lakepipes or headers, aluminum heads for the flathead, and difinitely no lumpy cams. No sir-reee, that wouldn't be right. That would be a 1-800-use-yer-credit card car. ha-ha, funny-funny.

The 32 pictured above may not be every-one's cup of tea, but to the unwashed - its a hot rod.

the only difference between this one and say Cyclone Kevin's 32 that is listed in the cl***ifieds - is the ch***is component, paint, screen and detailing. Kevin's is a hot rod, and this a "Street Rod / 1-800 rod".

The difference being the lack of work on one vs the immence amount of work in detailing.

    my preference lies in Kevin's 32 - anyone need a kidney? ;)

Right on to Jim A and RJP (post #52). Yeah it's a dead horse now but there is more nagging here than I see on Boyd's TV show about which billet polish to use. It's a nice build, if it's not your taste then who gives a ****. It has no billet, no Boyd red paint, and no cushy *** seat.

Take a look at the 1949 SO CAL catalog--it has all the stuff the flatheadies clamor for now. Hot rods are big business like it or not and they have been for a long time.

Let's take this car cross country, off on the backroads, open it up and then tell me you are not in a hot rod. Some of you guys are spending too much time on your computers and not enough on the road.

Same reasons I'm only attracted to toothless bar hags, 2 legged dogs and cars that require a tet**** shot to drive - NOT because it's all I can achieve- I just am not attracted to "pretty" things. ;)

    YEAH RIGHT!
