holley carb help! please.

  1. the edelbrock 1406 on the buick is just not cuttin it, it is a square flange adapted to a spread bore pontiac intake. it done great on the 350 poncho but i think its lackin on the 400 poncho. i was thinking, i have a holley spread bore that needs building, its a single pumper, vac. secondaries with no external float adjustments or sight gl***es. the list # on the choke horn is 6926. do any of you guys have any info on that #. i cant find any thing in my books or on the web site. thanks, 40oz.

    I would keep with the Edelbrock
    Some of the Holleys you describe were Factory production carbs
    Ford used allot in the 80s
    Expensive to get kits limited in what can be done with them
    Other option find another Holley and build

    Holley spec book says # 6926 ="73 chevy truck, 650 cfm " , tv 41-1 shows va*** secondary..IMO should be a fairly decent carb ...holley kit # 3-732..

    those holley spread bores were "quadrajet replacements", they have a tendency to leak out of some of the external plugs when they get old.

    I would not bother with it....find a Pontiac qjet instead if you can.

    I'll trade you a 650 Holley dp spreadbore that needs a kit for the 1406....lol
