Brilliant. How about "fuck style" style? Can I swear on here? Sorry, that's just passionately crafted emotion as a vehicle and it's beautiful to see. I would tell you what I think of your visor and decklid but I don't want you to care. I want you to enjoy your car not me!
would have gone for a bucket full of louvres on the deck lid...but it's not mine so fair play.....can't knock the workmanship ........and yep it' needs some sort of grill shell
Thanks for all the compliments guys, I know this thing is getting pretty far from "traditional" but I like the forum and I think most guys here can appreciate someone doing everything himself with more busted knuckles than brains!!
I'd like to talk to you about it, it can vary quite a bit depending on what all you want done. I hate to send away work, but have you looked at speedway? They have some pretty inexpensive packages that could then be modified if it was something that fit your needs. I would be more than happy to build you something though let me know what you want.
Cool car Eddie. Love the frame! Is the the frame tapered just like a model A or is it straight? Can you give me front and rear dimensions from inside to inside of frame. I'm making my own frame for my model T and just love the way yours turned out. I dont want to make mine straight I want it to have a tapered just like a model A. Well enoughwith the questions. Swwwweeeet Car. Yeaah!!
The frame is tapered, but not like a stock frame. Look at some of the early pics and you will see. The front is 24 1/2 wide and the rear is 35 1/2 wide inside. good luck with yours post some pics!!
thanks everyone for the complements, I will be posting up some sneak pics of the leather work I am doing pretty soon. I also need to load up some pics of this weekends work, new headers for the bb new hairpins and a sway bar to hopefully keep me going straight. If I can actually get a half assed launch in this thing the 1/4 times should be pretty impressive. With the amount of weight I have added in the cage, decklid and overall frame construciton this will definitely not be the lightest A around but it'll help it stick!!
468" 871 blower holley 850's forged everything, crane gold rollers, stud girdles, should be enough.... for now crazy injection would look pretty killer up there.....
Eddie... awesome build. I really enjoyed viewing your posts. I sent you a pm regarding the dimensions of the rear frame, but since I rarely check my PMs, I thought I'd post here as well... I realize the arc follows the shape of the body, but I was hoping you could provide the dimensions relative to the axle centerline viewed from the side of the car. thanks dave@team321.com Cocoa Beach FL
here is a teaser of the leather work I am doing. The pic doesn't show it well but the skulls are tooled into the leather and are 3 dimensional. The entire seats are being tooled and baseball stitched as well as I am making a removable roof panel that will be completely tooled.
inside dimensions. I finished the leather on the dash last night so I will post up some pics later. It looks good stained and laced up. The staining makes the tooling a little less pronounced but I like it more of a subtle detail that doesn't jump out right away.
Well here are some updates. I have painted the frame, motor, rear end. I can start assembly on the chassis while I finish the body work. Still hoping to make it for autorama.
Bought new valve covers that don't fit, so I will need to machine off the edge of the flange as well as some off the intake. Luckily my friends own a machine shop so I will be using their mill tomorrow.
Holy Crap Eddie, your getting it done just like the last time we talked. Excellent work!!! Good thing your posting pictures or I wouldn't have recognized it.
