anybody no where to get a one piece window for the front doors for a 52 chevy 2 door thanks

  2. Gl*** shop can make them like $50 a side. You'll need to come up with something for a channel for the front so they stay aligned when rolled up and down.

  3. most window /gl*** shops have templates for flat gl*** windows. but you might have to go to an older shop that has been around for a while. good luck and have patience.

it's gonna take a bit of metalwork to make one piece gl*** work, the vent window and the side window are not on the same plane.

I've been thinking about this for a while now.....

IMHO the easiest way to get this done whould be to join 2 pieces of gl*** to account for the angle between the door gl*** and the old vent window.

Mabe some type of "H" shaped channel, and the gl*** would be glued into it?

How else could those 2 pieces be joined?

  6. You take the vent frame out, there's all kinds of room in there to make a channel for the gl*** to roll up into.

Harry Bradley did this to his La Jolla Chevy Hardtop. He had drawings of all he had to do to pull it off years ago in a magazine that only ran a few issues in the 80's...Super Rods and Customs or something like that. He had to re-work the metal at the belt line to line up the vent window area with the side window plane, which required custom made belt line trim and some matching metal work at the windshield post and top rail to make it all line up. And, all this was on a hard top which did not have a door frame which would also require reworking. Bottom line.....he went through A TON of work and custom trim fabrication to eliminate the vent window....a change barely noticed by most.....the difference between an average custom and a great custom, I guess. :)
