didnt like how big it was... had the caps but they didnt like chevy wheels and liked to fly off.

no when it left here i think it had stock chevy caps on it.

 

I'll have the Nash caps, cheers Shanks. Urethaning on is a brilliant idea, wish i thought of that with my old caps!

 

I have tons of old caps and funny thing, the only thing I can find that will fit the front of a '50 Chevy are some 58-61 Rambler caps with the big R in the center... all the ones I like, are too shallow. Looks like "Nash" caps for me too. No idea if they'll stay on going down the road, though. Will keep that urethane trick in mind.

Sad thing is I cleaned out a couple cars loaded with caps in the one junkyard, I have a full 60's car trunk of caps, plus two wood peach baskets stacked overflowing, plus every nail in my grandmother's garage that will hold caps has some hung on it.

I drove the old green skank mobile a few weeks back, dam bouncy man!

DirtyT, what steering rack is in it? Needs power steering, cause i'm way too lazy these days!

 

its a early 80's saab rack. so you can upgrade it to powersteering, make sure you sell off that manual rack its worth some money there hard to come by. it needs rear shocks so bad. i never got around to putting them in.

 

o yea just so you know if it ever goes back up for sale please let me know i would buy it back. so i would like first dibs at it please.

 

Like the morons we are, we had it up on the hoist looking at the rack, thinking "oh we could just put any rack in it" then realised, shit, its left hand drive, hahah. Looked at the rear shock mounting points, shouldnt be a problem.

Pm Shanks, he may be interested in selling it back, but it's been half way around the world now, price will be higher than you may think.

YOU FORGOT TO MENTION HOW LONG IT TOOK TO GET ON THE HOIST . oh ,sorry capitals .. Dirty ,, she,s nearly at the end of a freshen up , shes now re wired ,re fired , welded , just waiten for a cragar blitz job on the roof .. he likes playin with roofs .
It wasnt gonna get painted ,but i pushed the herpie under a car i had on the hoist , over a weekend , and it dripped brake fluid on the roof ..
a friend of mine was wondering if the roof started its life as a bowling ball????? ( the silver matal flake , under the green )

Well I am glad I am not a custom car dude if you two are I would like to see my car on the road one day not like you and your stunt and as far as taste goes if you had taste you would not have a 2 door instead of a 4 door taxi

there is a lot of cool looking cars which flat green and tangerine you only have to look a round on here
