Hey ... it is a nice car ...
A car most folks here would like to own. :D

Bagging on it ... seems to make some folks feel good. I do not understand running down the guys car. There a lot of **** cars here on the HAMB that is someone's dream car ... I respect that ...
Why not let the guy enjoy the car ... in peace.

As for the original poster ... He said it was the nicest he had seen.
Maybe he has never been to the LA Roadsters event or a big NSRA or GG event ... Even if he has ... maybe this one really turned him on ...

Different cars for different folks ...

I think this the most beutiful 32 Roadster I have ever seen in person ...

BUT ... I would rather own this one

I just want to clarify that I didn't intend to take away from your car with my discussion of the nicest roadster ever... It's super nice for sure...

And you seem to be a cl***y dude, so good on ya... Enjoy your roadster!

  4. Its not the nicest I have ever seen, I am more of a Doane spencer kinda guy, but hey who cares. It's the nices t 32 HE has ever seen. A few changes and it would fit my bill nicely too. Some painted steelies and dogdishes, a change here and there, and wellah! I would drive it in a second. I just dont like the wheels. Kinda out of place on the car, thats all...... But hey I am just a poor white kid...........

I love this line of thinking.

So you just charge all those parts, they arrive, and just fall right into a drivable car in an afternoon then? Riiiiiiiiight. Pull the other one!

Have any of you guys that bag on how easy "catalog rods" are to build ever actually done it? Did it just fall together? Come with one of those big fold out sheets of instructions with the stupid little caricatures? Maybe a little baggie or two of hardware and a cheesy stamped steel wrench to tighten the bolt up with?

My car is old steel, but if Brookville made a '30 tudor out of new panels that didn't cost more than I make in a year, I'd be on them like a fat kid on a *****ie.

If you like the hunt and the stories, that's fine, but to suggest that your preferences make you "more" of a hot rodder than me or any other guy with an old car, is just elitism and nothing more.

  7. It looks nice. It looks like a genuine 32 Ford, with some aftermarket bits you can see.

    But it's not genuine.

Maybe the owner's wife has a cubic zirconia rock in her ring. Looks just like a diamond to the naked eye. No sweaty, messy, ****** mining involved in making that CZ. Think she goes out of her way to explain to some other woman admiring it that it's CZ?

Look, not everybody can afford a genuine 32 Ford roadster. That's OK. Just don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

You know, using that same criteria, anyone that builds a car that represents a certain era, a 40's, 50's or 60's style car, falls into the same category you outlined here,... if your building a "Traditional Hot Rod",.... and it never was a Rod back in the day,... I guess it's just as fake as that CZ,.... right?

Look, not everybody can afford a genuine 1940's, 50's or 60's Hot Rod or Custom. That's OK. Just don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Wrong, unless you're telling me that everyone who builds a rod is using a non-genuine body and a non-genuine frame, as the car referenced at the start of this thread has.

Hmm. Nice car. I'd own it and drive it.

Now, for the "catalog car" bashers. - What about the paint, interior, and finish of the car? Ya can't order that up out of a catalog. Someone did a nice job of putting it together. Sure, some of us would change things about it.

soooo.....to be a real hotrod your ride would have to have:bad paint, hidden rust, bad brakes, bad handling and preferably a worn out flathead????
and it would be considered bad to have a car that is built with the best parts available???
    roflmao!!!
    you guys crack me up....

oh oh...Someone threw some catalogue parts on this one back in 1959!! Oh the humanity...
This is not the best I have seen but the ''best one" you ever seen never even comes close as far as traditional. imho

I'm pretty sure that is the one that was ***embled by The Hot Rod Garage in Denton Md. There is no question about their level of perfection.

The head lights are not reproduction. I don't think anyone is making them...yet.

I remember the first time I saw it at Macungie I think. I left my buddies and sprinted across the field to see it in case it moved before I got there. Most of you won't understand the level of disappointment that came over me when I got close to it. There was nothing neat or unusual about the car. I kept saying there has to be something on it that is unusual or distinctive... There wasn't. Every single piece was a brand new store bought item....I lied. I don't think the frenched 39 taillights are a Brookville option.

I applaud the talent of the ***emblers.

    It's too perfect for me. I don't want a **** car but I don't want a museum piece either.

Is some of it jealousy? Probably. I'm jealous of the talent of the ***emblers and the wallet of the owner. I don't mean to disparage the owner. I have no way of knowing what I might do if I could ever afford to have a car like that built for me. I just can't relate to that. I do know that it would have some distinctive details that would set it apart from the rest of the pack.

It's OK to hate me for having these feelings. If you do, you can't understand the feelings that I bring home from the Jalopy-Rama either. Neither of us are right and neither of us are wrong.

how much fibergl*** in on that thing? dont get me wrong awesome car, but beauty is only skin deep, that thing was ment to be on the road, not on a trailer...

  17. Yep, it looks mighty antiseptic to me. Reminds me of all the Mustangs/camaros/tri-5 chevys/chevelles/cudas etc. you see lined up at every car show as I walk by to see the 65 Marlin someone had the guts to build.

Ha Ha you guys are funny.. Most of you just need something to pick on.. Although its not what I would want i do like it and I like most 32 roadsters anyway unless they are all hacked up.. So who cares if its done with over the counter stuff? Its a nice car and well put together . You need to remember some day there isnt gonna be any vintage tin Yep i said it and I mean it. its too bad some of you hard core *******s will be getting out of rodding with teary eyes cause although you have money you just cant buy an aftermarket steel body. Of course the really ugly **** will still be out there that no one wants to build or maybe you could jump the fence and build a nice supra..

I'm not a fan of that windshield style, but other than that I kind of like it. I think I could improve the looks by driving the hell out of it, though....:) You know, add some of that patina stuff....

heres another for consideration. It has been owned by my friend Bill Carey for more than 20 years. Original steel body, Supercharged 350, Quickchange rear and Original Halibrand wheels. It is one beautiful 32. Thanks for looking.

  22. Nice car - no doubt about it.

The rear wheels look to 16X10 ET-III's though.

I think that it is a beautiful car, and would be more than happy to flog it around the block a time or ten.

Maybe it was the most bad *** rod under the sun, before some ******* stole it and painted it for a TV show...

besides, I am pretty sure that the engine block was sand-cast in his back yard using recycled Ardun heads and s**** dual quad nailhead intakes. But as luck would have it, it ended up LOOKING like a chevy crate motor. Damn the bad luck!

Seriously, the only thing that could make that fancified ride a REAL hot rod is a photo of it leaving a freeway onramp getting sideways in a 2 - 3 upshift.

I could give two ****s about the windshield.

I have seen this car many times and I personally know the owner. He is a great guy and is not rich by any means unless you concider his talents as a builder, bodyman, and painter. This is not his only ride, he has a couple more pieces of old iron or should I say plastic. [old vettes]. The workmanship on the vettes is like the 32, impeccable. He drives this car and enjoys it however he now avoids rain. In a turn the spray from the fronts blast the winshield and waters down the occupants. How the car stays this nice I do not know. The car is mighty damn attractive to most people. Under the hood is an old solid lifter 2x4 vette engine with a 4 speed. The buick brake drums were hand polished with his own witches brew solution. If you think the workmanship looks good in pictures you should see it in person. I understand that some of you, including myself, prefer old original iron to repo stuff. To each his own. You may not like the beatles music but if you deny their talent you are a fool. The same applies here. The car was at macungie, he and his wife drove it there. It was put together in his 2 car garage located in N E P A not some pro shop in M D .

While most of this car may be made of 1-800 parts, that polished bullnose piece is definitely NOT. Believe me, I searched for one. You gotta make that piece yourself.

I like how people auotmatically ***ume a car that is actually shiny, clean, and nice just MUST be a trailer queen... It IS possible to drive the living **** out of your hotrod and still keep it clean and shiny. I'm not saying the car in question is driven, but I know I drive the snot out of mine, basically every single day all summer long, and when i get home, I clean it, wipe it and polish it because I like it to look nice. Its also parked in my "nice" garage when I'm not actually driving it... I get a kick out of guys who come over to my place and see the shiny car, parked on the shiny floor of the "nice" garage, and immediately ***ume I never drive it... yet when they look at the odometer they notice I put more miles on it this summer than they did on their dirtball cars. Sorry for the rant, I just don't buy into the theory that a car can't be clean and shiny and still be driven.

Weird, but somehow I just knew the owner must be a vette guy.
