Sure it's a barn find, see the barn right next to it. Actually this is coming up in an auction close to me. It has already be converted from a sedan to a truck cab a long time ago it looks like. The perportions are a little odd but I think I can picture this dropped down a little bit with a bed added. You wouldn't have to worry about parking next to another Whippet pickup no matter what show you go to. Any suggestions on what this may be worth? Funds are short right now but I can always sell off some stuff.http://www.topauctions24-7.com/thumbnail.php?salenum=42380&photo=12&additional=1
Yeah, I see it...isn't that the emperor in his new clothes standing beside it? Wow...it's amazing what shows up when a picture is added...
So how high do you think something like this might sell for? In another picture it looks like it has the original flathead 6 and looks clean enough that it could probably be revived. The more I look at that side view the more I like it. Here is a front view of it. http://www.topauctions24-7.com/thumbnail.php?salenum=42380&photo=11&additional=1 Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
Well, a lot of views but not much info. This auction is this Saturday. Any suggestions on how much I should bid? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
Looks good from the trailing edge of the door forward. Wonder why they did that. Wrecked at one time maybe?
At auctions, you never know. You might be the only one there who wants it. OTOH it may go higher than you want to pay - but you still might get it!
I've seen this done to cars every now and then. Story is during WWII you could get more gas with a truck than a car. At the time this and Model A's were just a 15 year old used car.
Very true and I remember reading that also. It is worth what you are willing to spend. If you want to give it a shot go to the auction and see what it bids to. You may walk out of there with a new project or you may walk out with money still in your pocket. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
Spend what you can afford. You never know, two idiots could get fighting over it and bid it to $2500, or no one could care and you get it for $100. I'd just stand up front and hold my hand up with my bidder number and look confident and see what happens.
