I am thinking about ordering the 4'' drop tube axle kit with the 4 bar front from Speedway. Is anybody running one?

I have the same exact setup under my 32 Roadster also.

I would imagine that the Speedway one would function just about like the TCI one. :)

how about a homemade one. the axle is a '35 dodge and the bars are coil spring cars sway bars. they are solid steel so i just cut one end off and drill a hole and stick in a grade 8 bolt and weld it up. the other end i put it in my lathe and drill and tap it. i have built several of these for T's and A's and they seem to hold up. i replace the rubber bushings for the nylon kind and i am only into it for about 100 bucks or so.

I bought their stainless 4 bar system. I thought it was a great deal price wise. It fit perfectly. If you want a little bling without a second mortgage, I'd recommend it. I was building a tweener. A semi street rod/hot rod driver. I'm sure their mild steel setup is just as nice.

here's our front four link parts page... you can build your own, like flatheadgary said.

Do you know if you're running fenders or not? It's a nice touch to bring the bars back to the cowl line if you're open wheeled, but you need to use standard bars if fenders are involved.

How far off the ground are the lower bar mounts on the frame, It looks like these setups would catch speed bumps. Are the bars supposed to be parallel the ground, and thats why the mounts hang so low? I have a 4" drop tube axle with 4 bar but I am debating if I am going to use it because of this.

Thanks for the pics everyone. Much appreciated. Now I can get an idea. I went with the Spring behind. I'll be sure and post pics soon.

There's no set dimension for how far the brackets are off the ground... it depends on too many variables. There are probably thousands of cars with front four bar setups... you'll be fine.

My 32 Roadster ( 2nd car ... right to left ) sits pretty low. I am using a 4 inch dropped axle ... with the 4 bar and I have NEVER scraped or touched the pavement or speed bumps with the 4 bar mounts or bars. I have drug the bottom of the transmission and the exhaust ... more than a few times

The bars work better if parallel.
Longer bars work better than short bars.
The bars lenght on mine and Tommy's ... are what most 32's use ... but TCI and others sells a longer bar for cars without fenders. Any longer on mine would hit the fenders ... :(

I'm concerned about them being too short for my fenderless pickup. Although I guess I can always cut them and lengthen them if need be.

Here's a couple of pictures of mine, almost everything from Speedway, not a tube though. My T coupe will be full fendered.
